Rusholme Chippy in Manchester

This is probably the oldest and the best kobedah place in ManchesterI have never been disappointed and will always come backThe naan is nice and thick tandoori madeThe kobedah is full of flavourAnd the chilli sauce is one of the bestGive it a go you won't be disappointed

First time visiting here after having some debates about who's got the best Kobeda in Manchester. And we have a clear winner. I see why there's a hype amongst Mancunians for this place. This is the winner place for someone who's looking for authentic Kobeda. Had a good filling meal with reasonable prices.

100% These guys are the Kobeda Kings. Whenever I am in the area I cannot resist food from this place especially their signature food, the Kobeda. Huge portions and excellent value for money. If you haven't tried them you are missing out.

Awful. Staff nice enough but the food was vile. Chips not cut up potatoes but made from cheap ingredients. Curry sauce thin and tasteless. The ketchup was some cheap radioactive pink colour with clear goo on the top. Never been to a "chippy" like it. Never again.

Went there to eat because their food look nice and yummy ordered the food sat down there for half an hour waiting and when asked that how long left the person said ten minutes more and if u r in a rush u can go. My husband said that's not the way how u respond to ur customers and he said well that is the thing. This is the way how they serve their customers very roud behaviour didn't like it at all.

Kobedaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!! Was a great service. Food was really tasty, wrapped well, with separate salad and sauces, was still hot when we travelled home to Wilmslow! Will definitely be visiting again to work our way through the menu!!

One of the older establishments on Wilmslow Road, whenever I go here the food is always awesome, the meat is very flavourful, I ordered a kebab and qabily palau to share, the meat was very soft in the palau and the kebab had a nice smoky taste, the red sauce is really good with the kebab if you like a little spice. Definitely would recommend for people to go here, it's not been open since 1977 for no reason.

They did however taste nice on the whole but there were parts of the meat that was burnt these parts of the meat tasted like something that was overdone on a barbecue and had to be given to the local pigeons who are obviously suffering as well during lock downBread 7/10The Nan bread overall was good but just a little too crispy at the edges, it was not soft and fluffy as I normally like it. However when rolled it did not break and allowed me to eat the kabab as a roll.Accompaniments (Salads & Sauces) 10/10I asked for a tray of salad and was not disappointed. It was very fresh and lovely and cold. I had cucumber, tomato's, onion, lettuce and a chilli. I also had a carton of mint yogurt and the Rusholme Chippy special red sauce. What I normally do with a double kobeda is eat one of the strips of meat with the kabab open and then add salad and the sauce and then roll the kabab to eat it. The one thing that resulted in a lower score was the sheer amount of fat that soaked into the nan bread and started to leak out of the end of the kabab once I had rolled it and picked it up.Total score 35/50Other Comments (Not Scored)I have been going to the Rusholme Chippy for 35 years and although the kababs they sell are probably the best you can get in Rusholme they are not a patch on what they used to be. I miss the lovely succulent meat in a perfectly cooked kobeda and they never used to be fatty. I can only assume that they have changed the quality of the meat. When you take this and add into the mix the fact the kobeda is overcooked and chewy, what you are left with is take away that has seen its glory days and trading on its previous reputation and this breaks my heart. Hopefully the new owners will read this review and change the meat supplier and learn to use the clay oven correctly. I will return in three months for another review which will be my last visit if things have not improved.

All time favourite!! Best Kobeda in the country... personal opinion. Meat is clean and flavoursome with a perfect char from the tandoor. Freshly made naan, chips and Salad. And the 2 unique sauces are something else. Freindly staff and decent pricing. Can get very busy in the evening but worth it it. Highly recommended..
