We were looking for some proper Thai food and not the usual chain that the taste is all the same doesn’t matter in which city you go.Siam was perfect, the ambient was formal but authentic, the chef/owner is a really nice woman and you can see that she cooks with her heart. Everything we tried was spot on on we payed £40 so not expensive AT ALL. Please pay Siam a visit if you are looking for some proper Thai food

I absolutely love this place. Tucked away above Deansgate this lovely little restaurant does properly authentic and delicious Thai food. Fantastic friendly service. It doesn't have a license but you can BYO for a small fee.

Made an impromptu visit on Saturday night with friends. Was lucky enough to get a table. The service was prompt and excellent, and the food was delicious. A little gem this - very authentic Thai restaurant, basic in the setting but very traditional and great food. Highly recommend

Found this amazing little Thai place on my lunch break and decided to give it a try. I can't remember the name of the dishes but they were both absolutely amazing. I asked for one to be 'very spicy' and it was wonderful, the kind of spicy that really hits the spot and gives the food so much flavour. This was really genuine Thai food, possibly even better than that I've had in Bangkok, and it seems to be a small family operation with lovely owners so I encourage you to go support your local business owners, or give them a visit if you're from out of town. Full stars and plenty of Siam Smiles for me - I'll be back!

Slow service but the food was excellent. Highly recommended if you aren't in a rush. It doesn't have a licence but they're happy for you to bring your own, for a small corkage fee, or buy from the bar next door. Not easy to spot from the Google directions. When it says you've arrived, head up the stairs and turn right, Siam Smiles will be on your right. See my photos for where the stairs are.

Ordered here as i wanted to try something different to eat. Was welcomed by staff who are absolutely lovely. They were extremely helpful and kind. Ordered the belly pork and duck breast with jasmine rice and it was delicious. Was told to try the chilli sauce and clear soup which comes with the meal and that was also very nice. Enjoyed it very much and will be coming here again. Thank you. 🧡

They kept bringing me random dishes I didn’t order and I ended up without food half an hour after my friends had finished their meal. I went out to eat elsewhere in the end which is quite awkward when the rest of my group had already eaten and now had to wait for me.They tried to charge for the food we didn’t order and had sent back. The cokes we ordered were frozen solid and were completely flat. When we told them about it we were told “to wait until they defrost”, and of course, they tried to charge for them, too, even though we didn’t drink them. Also, there are no toilets at this restaurant. Definitely to be avoided.

Since the pandemic, restaurants have faced a number of difficulties which is why I’m loathed to leave negative reviews unless they’re deserved (yet constructive). I can see there are a number of very positive reviews of Siam Smiles so don’t just take it from me; your experience may be very different to that of the Saturday night experience me and my friends had. There were quite a number of dishes unavailable. That’s to be expected but it seemed that around a half to two thirds of the dishes were not doable. While the member of staff who served us was apologetic of this, it’s somewhat embarrassing that the restaurant wouldn’t have ingredients as basic as pork and beef on a Saturday evening. There was also only one kind of smoothie available from a choice of around 5 or 6. But still we carried on and chose different dishes and looked forward to them. The person serving kept bringing dishes to the wrong tables and not just ours. This is fine once or twice but it happened possibly five or six times in a small restaurant cafe. It was greeted with humour for the most part by guests but it got old after a while. The person serving lied that it was a new menu that day. It’s bold to start a new menu from scratch with very few ingredients on a Saturday but lying about it is probably worse. When mentioned later to the chef, she also nodded to this. After almost an hour we’d had our drinks and one starter of three. The restaurant was busy but with roughly ten tables it wasn’t frantically busy so it was hard to understand why this would be the case. After another ten minutes another table asked that if they’d not yet started their food they’d need to cancel. The other party had been there for around ten minutes less than us and we’d been there an hour at this point. We followed up by saying the same, to which the chef responded that she has to cook table by table. Given we’d ordered 50 minutes before I’d say we should have had our starters by that point so I don’t find that to be a fair comment or excuse. In the end we had to leave and pay for the one starter and drinks we’d had and, despite telling the staff we had somewhere we need to be, she asked again if we wanted our food as ‘she’d be able to do it now’ which while we gave another polite ‘no’, actually made us feel worse about the experience because it ended up feeling like we had to push to get what we’d ordered, massively late.I also don’t especially like how they have responded to the most recent one star review. It showed a lack of professionalism while also going off on some tangents that didn’t seem relevant to the review itself. But I was to end on positives; they were apologetic, the restaurant’s atmosphere is nice without feeling overdone (it feels lovingly put together) and the starter we did receive was excellent (fish cakes).Overall this was a poor experience that I wanted to be as great as some of the other reviews here and I hope I will again one day as I don’t want to write Siam Smiles off as this may very well have been a bad night. Try it for yourself as the food reviews are truly great; I just wish we’d been able to try it.

If you want to leave hungry and pay £££...The menu prices (about £7 a starter/£12 a main) are the highest I've seen for Thai food across London / Manchester and Leeds but given the good reviews, thought there would be something special about this place and gave it a go.Food - we ordered SN9 (pad si eiw) and as you can see from the photo, half the bowl is empty (save for that lime half!) £12 for this???!!! The owners feedback was that she had high quality ingredients but this dish was nothing special.Credit where credits due, we also ordered SN3 (Yen ta fo) this was actually yummy and a good mix of sweet/sour/spicy.Service - hospitality non existent and didn't feel welcome. Difficult to get the attention of staff (too busy chatting away amongst themselves); my partner's main course arrived 5 minutes after mine; had to ask for the bill twice as the first lady forgot.Btw there are no toilets at the restaurant, you can go next door (pub) or somewhere else in/near the mall.Would not recommend this place and a lesson on how not to run a restaurant.
