Utterly spectacular. We had the Imperial set menu, expertly cooked right before our very eyes by a wonderful chef. We can't wait to go again. What a wonderful experience!

Brilliant!! Really polite staff. This would undoubtedly be a place I would visit again. The chef pictured was a really nice guy. The food is made in front of you and cooked to your taste and tasted brilliant. Don't think twice about visiting here to dine weather you're on your own, as a couple of a group. Thank you everyone at Teppantaki!!

Food is fresh. Staff are friendly. Whilst the experience is fairly unique, I've been to other Teppanyakis where the chefs thoroughly interact with the diners by throwing food about and cracking eggs with knives etc..not here. There was a flame made and a bit of shouting but was fairly lacking. A little expensive and a little disappointing overall.

Good, enjoyed the lunch time menu. Staff are friendly. Would be good to have some optional sauces like sweet chilli to go with your food. Would definitely go again.

Presentation overweights taste. The price is too high for the food portion. It is okay to try but won't be a second attempt for me.

Excellent experience! Friendly staff, authentic Japanese Teppanyaki! Big portions would recommend the set menu for good value for money

Me and wife visited this restaurant during our trip to Manchester. Having been to a teppinyaki restaurant before, we thought it would be a pleasent and entertaining evening. We were greeted and seated by very friendly staff. We ordered and awaited the chef to come to our table. The chef was very welcoming and polite and told us to get ready for some pictures. He started off with some flames on the grill then began to cook our food. There was no more entertainment that you get from most teppinyaki restaurant, for example throwing the cutlery, food, etc. We were both quite disappointed. The food did not gain back any points. We ordered stir fried noodles, and duck to be cooked on the grill. It tasted extremely bland and seemed to be only cooked with soy sauce, oil and butter. I had to ask for salt and pepper and a chilli garlic sauce to try and enlighten my dish. The starters were the only food I enjoyed. Would not recommend for the theatre you expect with a teppinyaki restaurant and definitely not for the food!

Really good food, and a lot of variety to boot. I had ebi tempura as an appetiser, and the ozayuki I had for my main course (mushrooms, spring onions & garlic rolled in beef) was incredible and highly recommended. The staff are very kind and friendly -- I felt guilty for using a knife and fork instead of the provided chopsticks, but the chef made me feel much better by saying they only use chopsticks when the meal is in a bowl anyway!

Amazing Teppanyaki place for sure! We ordered Imperial Set menu, which contains Miso soup, spring roll, fishcake, salmon nigiri & spicy tekka as starters; followed by beef fillet, duck with king prawns & scallops, with fried rice & vegetables as the main and finally for desert ice cream & sake. For 5£ you can also add lobster tail. They cooked all these on the Teppanyaki table by our chef Ronnie. He is a very sweet, friendly and an excellent chef. The fish cake was a little dry and I didn't like the scallops but to be fair I don't like scallops in general. Aside from those the food was very delicious, hats off to the chef. The menu is quite bigger than you expect so it's difficult to finish. Reservation is definitely required because it's a busy place. Our waiter, Wing, was a lovely woman, she was very friendly and made our time there more enjoyable. I totally recommend this place. For more reviews - Instagram: @foodjournalofTY
