the mahbub in Manchester

I have been using the Mahbub since they opened 25 years ago. The food has been consistently authentic and delicious… I have never had a bad experience in all of this time which is definitely some testament. Always great customer service from Amir and his team, they have a really comprehensive menu but nothing is too much trouble if you ask for something different and not only do they cater for this but they care enough to remember for next time.

Really pleased with the whole order. Food was very tasty (4 different dishes plus starters) and really warm (incl. the chapatis).Delivery was faster than the estimate given online and the delivery man was very pleasant.I visited the shop itself and must say that it looks really clean and everyone has a smile on their faces. Thank you!

I ordered from here for the first time this evening. After reading some reviews.Some of the reviews I agree with, but i think some people aren't giving this takeaway more credit.I ordered a Chicken Tikka Madras, which was spot on. The Pilau Rice was light and fluffy too, just how it should be. The Papadum's were fresh and crispy. The seekhkebab starter was nice and to standards. But I do agree about the lamb chops. A bit tough and quite oily. Not the best to be honest. Apart from that, the delivery was earlier than expected and everything else was spot on. I'd probably visit again, but leave the lamb chops out and order something else.

Ordered for a first time- won’t order again - the meal was warm, tasteless & greasy - I thought it was ghee but since phoning to tell them, I’m informed it’s veg oil- I ordered chicken saag, had cold finely chopped raw onion throughout spinach ,food tasteless- fish pakoras all dried up inside, yogurt dip watery , veg oil bright orange underneath the rice , even stained the complementary mints - meal went into the bin - prob the worse curry I’ve had in Manchester in years- phoned up & the guy on the phone couldn’t have cared less, said I complained about all parts of meal & that never happens- therefore my complain couldn’t poss be valid- I now see from reviews that it does happen- I’m giving it a one as the guy who delivered was polite & it arrived promptlyIncluded photo of mint as indication of grease on meal- really wish I’d taken more pics

MAHBUB'S "Tandoorie" lamb chops were disgusting due to overuse of red dye. Left my hands stained for hours.Can't be healthy or safe to eat! If you are genuine tandoorie cook why use so much dye? Dyed food could be carcinogenic? - Certainly unpleasant and unnecessary?

Great food from here everytime! Try the mixed grill, good price and good portion size, owner is very friendly, highly recommend!

I've never seen anyone use so much food colour in my whole life - Made the dishes look very artificial. They gave me complimentary papadoms but that i could tell by the taste and smell were pretty old. Lamb curry, lamb chops and chicken tikka starter was average to tasteless. The two stars only for the cleanliness and hospitality.

This is one of the most Authentic Quality Traditional food take aways I ever ate, beautiful & fragrant foods. Excellent choices and a huge menu that the Chefs love to show their abilities in their food skills. 100% value for money and enough to share. Enjoy! 🙏

This is quite a nice curry place tried a few of the specials, bhuna, korma and Rogan Josh. Prices are about average and portions are above average. The korma here is one of the better ones according to the Mrs. The staff are friendly and the place looks clean. There's alot of similar curry places and I have not found a dish that makes me crave returning. It's certainly not bad 8/10
