I attended this pub for food on Sunday 13 March for food with a friend.Having a food allergies, we requested that one meal be slightly amended to avoid any allergic reaction.Whilst the staff were pleasant, unfortunately the manager / owner of this pub informed us that she won’t make any amendments to one of the orders. She was extremely rude and unprofessional from the point in which we raised the allergies.I would never attend this pub again and would not recommend it to anyone who has allergies of health conditions which can be triggered by certain foods. The female manager / owner ought to educate herself on the law surrounding dietary requirements and allergies. As a result, we chose to leave the Old Boars Head and we instead attended the White Hart, which served nice food and had friendly staff who catered for dietary requirements and allergies.

Been here a few times for food and drinks, always a good experience. The food is a mix of classic and fused. Today I had a chicken breast, smothered in chilli and cheese, whilst my wife had a fabulous fresh fish and chips.

Amazing pub with a great character and interesting history. The interior design is very impressive, with many of the olden-day elements still there, so you can really see what it used to be like. Customer service was also good, with the staff being attentive to the needs of the guests. We were very satisfied with the quality of the food as well - fresh ingredients, fair and affordable prices, and generous portions. One minor thing that could be changed is that when ordering tea, I think the water should be served in a teapot so you can decide how strong you want the tea, instead of it being brewed by the staff at the bar. Overall if you have time I would recommend visiting this pub.

Great old haunted pub. Very busy which is a good sign... Loads of seating and food was lovely. There burgers are lovely. Staff are really friendly. A great outside heated area and will be lovely in the summer. Very well priced

Food was great, compliments to the chef however the wait time was shocking, staff not very pleased and the blonde haired manager needs to get a reality on her attitude rude horrible lady with manners of a pit bull chewing a wasp. for this reason only have I give this place 3 stars .

Really pleasant atmosphere. The food was cooked to perfection and just as tasty. It was also quiz night so we enjoyed that too and won twice on the bingo. Staff are pleasant and very helpful too. Will definitely be going again soon.

Be aware you have to pay to park!!!Had a lovely evening here with friends last Friday..We 'almost' got caught out in respect of parking though. The car park is not well lit up and we didn't see the parking fee notice.( you have to pay, but will be refunded at the bar). We were only spared a parking ticket when friends warned us. Staff at the bar were then very good in ensuring our registration details were entered into the system to avoid a penalty notice.
