I was recommended this place but left underwhelmed. It was busy and this review takes that into account.Didn't mind waiting for a table, there was a bar upstairs manned by a lovely and attentive lady. Was made to feel welcome.Food took a long long time to come out and yes it was better than the average English breakfast, I didn't think it was worth the wait or the extra cost. The bacon gets a special nod however as that was quite tasty.

I rarely write reviews but I've been meaning to do this for a while. I came here between Christmas and New Year with some old friends I'd not seen for years. We didn't know the area but I remembered I'd had a wonderful Sunday roast here many years ago. We turned up and a guy behind the bar was very accommodating and showed us to a table even though the bar was pretty busy. I had the buttermilk chicken burger with fries and a side of the 'Chip Shop Curry Mayo' The burger was without a doubt the best chicken burger I've ever eaten, no exaggeration - I still can't get it out of my head. The chip shop curry mayo was literally UNREAL. I WOULD DRIVE ALL THE WAY FROM LEEDS JUST TO EAT THIS MEAL AGAIN.Thanks again for fitting a couple of tourists in last minute , and keep up the good work!!! Compliments to the chef and staff 🤩

A great bar with a lot of choice of food and drink. The chicken and chips was absolutely delicious; succulent and juicy meat, with a crispy skin and tasty gravy. Looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu! Top notch service as well.

Lovely cosy place to have a beer or a coffee. Good coffee, not sure if they do alternate milks. Would visit again. Great ambiance.

Looking forward to trying this place again as there was a lot to like, but ultimately for us we had a bad experience. The place is really nice. A mix of traditional wood and modern interior, the staff were nice (if very busy) and other people had what looked like lovely Sunday lunches. The only issue was our food. It wasn't very nice. We both had brunch (chorizo hash) and it was all overcooked/burnt. The chorizo was black in places, the potatoes overcooked and burnt, and the poached eggs overcooked. It was either just an unlucky one off for us or the kitchen had too much on juggling Sunday roasts and brunch menus. We'd go back as it seemed really promising - just not for brunch on a Sunday.

Had a brunch here which was good. Was able to get a walk in, which was a little surprising. The fried chicken and waffles was good, and not heavy or fatty. The coffee was good and the staff friendly.

Great brunch! Slightly on the expensive side - however, I really enjoyed the food. Complementary table water served in a whisky bottle... What's not to like?

·

Popular spot for a roast dinner on a Sunday, advise to book ahead. Good Yorkshire pudding and decent atmosphere. Waiting staff are really helpful and polite too.

Went here for breakfast, they have a good mix of veggie/vegan and meaty options. The food was great, I had the veggie breakfast (minus the beans). Avocado on a breakfast is something I wish everywhere did.

Excellent food in an unassuming location with super friendly staff for a Sunday brunch / lunch.+ Excellent tasting food.+ Good atmosphere, kinda classic without being noisy and overrun+ Super friendly team of people+ Cost Sunday brunch / lunch place to come.- We did have to wait more than an hour for our food. But the team were quick to rectify and offered us free drinks due to the abnormal wait time.Overall would definitely come back here as the food was fantastic.
