This is a nice cosy pub which was great for watching the boxing. Good prices on drinks too and we were able to get a table on a Saturday night

Bad start, so it's Sunday 12.30 and popped our heads in to see what it's like after the refit. Empty was the starting point followed by the woman at the bar growling "no dogs" so we retreated with our Frenchie to The Wharf. Dog friendly and far busier. Strange business idea when the bar is next to a small park.

The toilets were vile, a trail of urine into the bar area. I have been a couple of times this is the last. Plenty other bars in the area. The landlady Rose is a nightmare. Try the Cask down the road abit much much better with a great range of beers.

Im really sorry to write this review but this has been building up inside me for the last 2 months since i last visited The White Lion. I should have left the review straight away but i couldn't bring myself to it however its been brewing for way too long now and i cant take it anymore. People need to know the truth. The white lion has a shocking selection of beers and the ones that are actually on tap range from about £5.85+ for a pint of Stella etc. Awful selection of beer and rude staff. Wouldnt visit again.

Went in this pub before concert at the bowl.scruffy inside only 1 ladies toilet and expensive drinks.pint coke half lager 2 x crisps was £9.70. Bottle becks blue £4.75..scandalous.won’t ever step foot in there again

A great old pub that's directly opposite two of the best Manchester Museum's. A little bit on the expensive side for drinks but very friendly bar staff & good food make it a place definitely worth a visit. Also seating outside brilliant in the summer with the Roman ruins within a minutes walk away.
