Grandpa Greene's Luxury Ice Cream in Oldham

Went here for an indulgent lunch of pancakes and waffles and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and well presented. I would have liked some whipped cream on my waffles as there was so much chocolate. Next time I will ask for some. The location is lovely and cosy, I’d definitely advise booking in advance. You can get takeaway ice cream and drinks though and enjoy them on a walk down the canal.

Be prepared to que up on the weekends.. relatively slow service. Small choice of ice reams and cakes at a premium price. You also have to pay for ice cream and cakes separately which I found a bit odd.

Such a lovely day out with stunning views as you have afternoon tea, brunch, or lunch. The sundaes take you to heaven! The woman who served us was very helpful and attentive to our dog and child. Nothing was too much trouble even though they were very busy.

Nice little cafe along the canal. They do nice food and massive ice creams. I will definitely be going back with my dog, they even have a dog menu. There are also vegan options available.

Absolutely loved it, great service too. Lovely setting, perfect for dog walks. Would advise you book a table at the weekend if you want to sit in as usually busy.

Great choice of ice cream flavours, and friendly place with great staff. Beautiful views of the canal and countryside whilst you eat. Just wish the food was a little tastier but otherwise a lovely outing.

Visited today, horrible weather but still a nice afternoon. Sandwich selection is a bit limited but that is the only criticism. Nice environment, and not as cold as you think it would be. Lovely service from Molly.

I have visited Grandpa Greenes a few times, the food and service is always amazing! Yesterday, I took my dog for the 1st time for dinner before his big operation today🐕The staff could not do enough for him, and he tried everything off the dog menu! They were very accommodating for my very energetic deaf 5 year old dog.I just want to say a massive thank you to Emma for the kind gesture of giving Loki a gift voucher so he can return after Christmas when he has recovered.We both look forward to returning again, next time going for a long walk down the canal also.Xx

First time at Grandpa Greene's and it did not disappoint.I pigged out and had a bratwurst, hot chocolate and biscoff pancakes. Don't be fooled though the portions are huge, I'm just a fat lad and didn't eat for the rest of the day.I really hope the bratwurst aren't just a Christmas thing

Came for some lunch on a Friday afternoon. Staff very welcoming and fitted us in straight away asking where we would like to sit. It's just of the canal and very easy to get too, plenty of parking on site as well.Was given a menu, decided to scan and use their online menu which offered a little more choice than the paper option be time we had ordered someone had come over and asked if we were ready to order which had already been done so doing it via phone was a lot quicker. Drinks came fast within a couple minutes and food followed about 15 minutes after ordering.Overall rather satisfied with the visit a nice ambiance and lovely views across the canal, prices on the steep side for the items personally but you pay for convenience and location. Would definitely return and recommend to others and would come back if in the area.
