The Shalimar Restaurant in Oldham

Great tasting curry, staff always helpful with advice with the menu.

We went here for the first time last night. Food was amazing, service was great, the staff were very friendly. Place is lovely and clean and very popular as it was very busy. We will come here again and recommend to friends and family.

Unfortunately our last meal was too spicy! Every dish ordered was far too spicy even the massala !

Been here with a large group of people several times and it has always been excellent, unfortunately this time it was not. The food was amazing, you could not fault it. For a party of 14 everyone enjoyed the food and the kitchen did well to get it out, hot and all together. The service however was terrible, had to go and ask for drinks several times, a general attitude from the staff as if we were being an inconvenience being there. They had plenty of staff around, so this wasn't a question of being short handed.

I came here the other day, and service was bad , food is nice. Confused waiters didn't know what date it was. Brought food to the wrong table. Half n hour later he rudely tells us to wait another 40 mins to 35 mins and the other table even complained its the wrong food. Bad management skills and also charged me additional £2 for extra garlic in my curry. LAST TIME HERE!

Lovely flavours in every dish. Rice delicately scented, naan fresh, light crispy - great but….. the mains were very oily which spoiled the overall quality a little

We went Shalimar for our works celebrations last Friday.- The Restaurant is kept clean and tidy throughout- Staff are friendly and easy to talk to, very attentive.- Food was 10/10, exactly as you would expect from a place like this(Tip - If you are struggling on what to have, shout one of the waiters and ask them for their recommendations, they are always happy to assist).Me and the team all had a great night! Highly recommended and we will most definitely see you again very soon! 👍😁

Amazing curry at this place tonight. Visiting for the weekend and stumbled upon this amazing restaurant. I had the Lamb Jaipouri! Really really delicious!

Thoughtful and courteous service: Asked us if we were happy to sit near another a large group with children, remembered our enquiry about vegan food and offered two guests something different off menu. Very attentive and lovely food. The perfect end to our day.

Never had a bad meal here and this time was no different. We visited mid week for tea with a couple of friends. The service was welcoming, friendly and attentive. Completely covid safe so no issues there. Still the best popadums and chutney tray. It's the onions, I don't know what they do with them but I like them here more than anywhere else! All our dishes were very tasty. In all it's a comfortable and reliable place with good food and service at reasonable price. Definitely going to leave my comfort zone next time and order some new things.
