We have previously had lovely food at this pub restaurant and they have a really good menu. Unfortunately on this occasion I was served chicken that had gone right off. The smell when the dish arrived was horrible and we couldn't understand how the chef had allowed it to be served, I wondered if the smell was due to something else and made the mistake of having a small taste of the rancid chicken. Of course the restaurant took the cost of the item off our bill, but we weren't able to continue eating. The young servers were very apologetic, yet the chef didn't speak with us which was disappointing as the chicken could have made someone seriously ill.The three stars are for the waiting staff, the starter and the memories of previous times when the food was good.

Great atmosphere, cozy and warm place. Doesn't sell smooth beer (John smiths/Boddingtons) but other trendy ales are available.

The presentation was on point, but the quality of food was lacking. The lamb shank was moist and tender but the lack of sauce made the lamb taste so bland and flavourless. The smoked haddock again tasted nice but full of bones in every bite. Staff bought the the food out and left the cutlery and to further add the coke I ordered from tap was flat.Do I recommend this place: No.

Husband & sister had cod & chips. Mine was lamb shank. Got veggie side little bit too crunchy. Had sweets. Forgot mine so they didn't charge, bottom of sticky toffee pudding overcooked/ warmed up too much. Will go again

Cosy & Christmas's. Good Xmas hot drinks list. Food was delicious and well priced.

Lovely customer service but last time I visited it was definitely 'home cooked food '. This time, obviously processed microwaved food to the table. Think I was just unlucky with the 'roast' as the lamb was too tough to eat. Nevertheless, a lovely pub in lovely surroundings and memories of home.

Only payed for 3 deserts £19. Lovely presentation, great service, friendly staff . Only 3/4 full so plenty of choice to sit for a Saturday night.
