Forest Fence in Pendle

After visiting for the first time in a while its very disappointing! The service fantastic the staff are amazing! The food sadly not up to par! First time in my life I have ever not eaten a full roast dinner! I eat them even if my belly hurts it goes against my very being to leave one uneaten! This place though made me do it!!! Disappointed!!

Amended my original view from 5 to 3, we attended a couple of weeks ago and the service was shocking. My food was actually really tasty however other peoples food in our party were not.The cocktails were sub par too im afraid.Lovely staff and atmosphere though.

Great rooms. Top menu. Katie was really professional and a credit to the hotel. I will be staying here now rather than the bigger hotels in the area.well done x

Our first visit here.... To be fair the food was good the service was disjointed, after a wait upon entry we were finally acknowledged with a sit where you like attitude, then waited a while for any kind of service. When we ordered drinks etc we also asked for water, this never came :(As i said earlier our food was good.. shame we had to ask for knives and forks to eat it thou...and even when we finished our mains we ordered more drinks but at no point were we offered deserts, and i made it quite clear when we were settling the bill had we been offered we would of taken up the offering.... But it was sarcastically laughed off... So a rather disappointing end to a relatively good night

As you park and enter the main doors, Forest looks lovely; however, this changed once we were seated.We booked for a party of twelve six weeks in advance. We were then sent an email five days prior to arrival asking us to pre-book our meal choices five days in advance. Strange, no?! After calling to query this, we were told that if there was something on the specials menu on the night, we’d be able to change our meal. This, however, was incorrect and – we were told – was not the case when we arrived.We were put in a private room for our meal, which was lovely; however, it appears we were somewhat forgotten about. After the dishes from our starters were collected, we had no cutlery left. We then had our main meal served with no cutlery to eat it. We had to ask three times for cutlery before someone came out with it. Two members of the party had ordered steak – one well-done and one medium-rare – but they were delivered to our table the wrong way around. This wasn’t all! Don’t forget, we had also notified the restaurant FIVE DAYS beforehand of all meal choices and dietary requirements / preferences, but not one of these were acknowledged or adhered to at all.Dessert; what can go wrong here?! Well, we were given menus to pick desserts, but we were sat for a minimum of fifteen minutes before having to find a member of staff to ask if we can order desserts. The dialogue left a lot to be desired:Customer: Please can we order some desserts?Staff: Pardon?Customer: Can we please order some desserts?Staff: Oh, yeah, whateverThe aforementioned conversation was awful; however, you can’t mess up a dessert, right?! Well, Forest gave it a damn good try…and succeeded! A sticky toffee pudding was served to one of our party ICE COLD! We once again hunted down a member of staff whose exclamation of “they brought it out cold?” was a clear sign that even he was shocked!On a side note, the toilets – both male and female – were in an awful state of disrepair and very unhygienic.Finally, we were all – at one point or another – made to feel like we were burdening the staff. Our party quite easily put £1,000 their way that night, yet we were treated like we were making their lives a misery. Having spoken with the remainder of the party, we won’t be returning.

Fabulous place . Room modern and comfy. Food beautiful from the Sunday lunch menu . Breakfast was wonderful and hot. Service great,very attentive . Will definitely be back

Lovely food, so pleased this restaurant has reopened!2 for £13 cocktails during the week, there's always a fab specials board, and it's a dog friendly place! The Forest has always been a favourite of ours 😊

Took my mum for breakfast but found out they do brunch until 3pm which was good! The breakfast was beautiful and I could have eaten it again.The staff were attentive and the atmosphere were quiet and steady for a Thursday morning. Plenty of tables to sit at and have a big awning with a number of tables outside which will be amazing in spring and summer.Will definitely be coming back as I really enjoyed my breakfast!

Had a love meal here this evening. Staff are fantastic and attentive but not over the top. The food was delicious, good size portions with a really varied menu.It was our fir visit to Forest at Fence. The pub itself is really modern inside, nicely decorated. Service looked quite busy but it didn't feel rushed, everyone was well spaced out but close enough to have some atmosphere as well.Will certainly be going back!

We booked the private dining room for our wedding reception. It was a great evening, the food and staff were lovely. Our rooms were perfect, clean and spacious. A special mention to Lauren who was very efficient, helpful and professional. We will certainly be going back for one of their delicious Sunday lunches. So thank you The Forest.
