Why haven't I rated this place before now?! It's exceptional! I have been recommending this pub to people for years. All you can eat pub food for under £10 and the food...just delicious! It's always fresh, hot and tasty, I've never had a bad meal here and the meat portions on the Sunday carvery are huge, so make sure you're hungry! If you like sprouts, please try the sprouts in black pepper sauce, a creation of the very talented and obviously passionate Head Chef, I promise you'll start to crave them!

Blue Anchor does a Monday to Saturday, help yourself, all you can eat, hot & cold buffet. Available 12 noon to 8pm.Very good choice, including vegetarian and vegan.Probably need to book at weekends, very popular on a Sunday when it is a Roast Carvery. Again 12 noon to 8pm.Desserts are extra.Very good value.Good for kids.Outside beer garden tables.Moorhouses brewery beers.

Absolutely fantastic food unbelievable I would definitely recommend this to anyone the price of cleanliness the trust pilot certificates displayed on the wall just say it all it is an unbelievable eating experience definitely recommended!

Went for their buffet lunch, in the North West I believe they refer to this as "dinner". Home made food tasty and importantly for me hot temperature wise. A wide selection of dishes so you are sure to find something you like. Highly recommend.

Arguably the best carvery I've ever had!The staff could not have been more helpful either, we were a walk-in rather than booked and they were busy, however one of the diners left earlier than expected so they called us back, cleaned the table got us booked in between existing booking.Will call again when next in the area no doubt.

Omg this roast dinner is amazeballs home cooked honey heart walmingly yum x love it here and the roadies and meats are delightful.only thing I would say I'd if homemade Yorkshire.. then that would be incredible. But I still rate it five stars as the staff and food and cleanliness are always 👌 x

Went midweek for the buffet not knowing what to expect. The choice was fantastic both for veggies and meat eaters. Two meals plus drinks £20.58 that's cheaper than a Toby carvery and there's no comparison on food quality or taste. Highly recommend.
