Went to visit my son and granddaughter recently who booked a table for Sunday lunch. My son had visited a couple of times previously with his partner for drinks and thought it would be nice to treat his mum and dad to lunch. The beef roast was quite nice and was looking forward to our desserts. Ordered our desserts, waited 15 mins and asked the waitress when they would be served, 2 secs she replied. Another 10 mins went by and still no desert and no communication from the staff. We decided we couldnt wait any longer and went to the bar to settle our bill. Whilst waiting to pay a man appeared and said i am the chef/owner busy preparing 12 meals to serve. I explained the situation politely and said we couldn't wait any longer. He then disappeared and came back with a slip of paper with our order and challenge me regarding the time we had been waiting. He was very rude, argumentative and offered no apology. There was clearly a lack of communication between him and his waiting on staff. I said have you ever heard of the saying the customer is always right, he replied and yelled back, not on this occasion. Won't be going there again, neither will my son or his partner. What started out to be a pleasant afternoon ended up ruining our day.

The food was out of this world, so tasty and large portions too. The staff was really welcoming and it was a warm and relaxing atmosphere. David entertained our youngest whenever possible which was a great help! We will definitely be returning and I would highly recommend this pub if you want a 5 star meal!

We were a party of nine for Christmas Lunch today and it was delicious, everything was cooked to perfection and piping hot. We were all made to feel so very welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The new owner is certainly making a considerable effort to make a go of it and we strongly recommend you give it a try.We will definitely return. Many thanks!!!

Food was lovely, although a bit too much for me. The service in this pub is amazing! They couldn't do more for you, all of the staff were lovely and polite and very friendly! This place is a must.

Called in for a drink yesterday. There was no where for the 3 of us to sit and we wandered into the dining area. Thinking we may have a light bite we asked if we could sit in there. The two girls behind the bar where quite frosty and less than welcoming. They said they would see which weren’t booked and come and tell us. We managed to squeeze around a table for two but the staff never came back to us.You know the film American werewolf? When they walked into the slaughtered lamb ? The feeling was a bit like that. You’re not welcome - it’s locals only kind of feeling. Good beer though. Left after one and didn’t bother eating.
