Delightful pub; brilliant beer garden (plenty of space), great service - swift and friendly and had a delicious fish finger sandwich ( lightly tempura battered) with crispy, fluffy chips to share. We will be back. Recommended! 😋Visited again for lunch 20th March 2022 - roast beef dinner. Lovely. The roast beef was real (Not processed and for less than £10). Fish 'n' chips - fish cooked to perfection with a light, flavoursome, crispy batter. We'll return (We have quite a few times in between reviews).

It's still quiet, but in some ways that's a good thing. Food really good and nice staff

Great local serving food, thwaites and international beers

Lovely pub and food was magnificent. The children loved their food and the ice dessert was yummy

·

Really tasty, well priced food, friendly and efficient staff in a comfortable, modern and clean country pub. What more could you ask for? First time we've visited in over a decade and will definitely not be leaving it as long until the next visit. Definitely recommended.

It was a Sunday and unfortunately there was only one beef, gammon or lamb.We ordered lamb, but was told sadly the lamb is off and can't be served. The staff were very apologetic and very helpful, giving us our round of drinks for free, and offered us a free meal if we come back.We happily accepted and have booked for next week.I would recommend the Smiths Arms as they went above and beyond to remedy the situation.

Great freshly made food and friendly staff. Steak and ale pie superb.Amended reviewWent today. Took forty minutes for food to arrive. Not the greatest to be honest. Chips heavily salted and burger rather plain. Complained and got a discount. Staff prefer regulars. Will think twice about going back

Popped in for some lunch after reading reviews. Glad I did. Very pleasent country pub. Home cooked food. Made to feel very welcome as a solo walker. Had homemade steak and kidney pudding which was on the specials board for £12.95. It was very nice and steak melted in mouth. Toilets very clean and nicely decorated. Will visit again.

A lovely pub. Amazing atmosphere with friendly staff. Food is very good at a reasonable price. Easy access with plentiful parking. No events were on while we were there but it seems like it would be the perfect venue for some. Will come again

Great food and super friendly helpful staff. Desert menu looked good but we were full after our meal.
