The Sparling in Preston

Wow. Top quality food. Very good Estrella on draught and organic red tasty. Friendly knowledgeable assured service. Family friendly. Good price for the quality. The bread from the nibbles section is unmissable especially the garlic and cheese loaf and the treacle mini loaf. Think the sourdough needs a bit of presentation work but this is a minor quibble..Lucky enough to go on a Monday as it was bank holiday Easter Monday and I know they are usually closed on this day. This is the best meal we have had since 263 in Preston and although locals may know it well I think it's a real hidden gem. Make the journey it's worth it. Would like to know more about the chef. Has excellent potential as you can see in the photos and this is restaurant food not gastro pub. Enjoy.

Enjoyable Ambience, helpful and pleasant staff, great food with a good choice of vegetarian options

A good friend of mine booked for Mother's Day . She uses the restaurant regularly in conjunction with her business.She didn't get to have the meal as a careless member of staff tipped a tray of drinks over her mother - the waitress and manager seemed to find it amusing and they were treated in a rude, surly unacceptable manner .Go to the Priory, Scorton and be treated courteously!

Food excellent. Staff attentive but not intrusive. Very accomodating and helpful when one of our part requested chicen instead of beef on the roast dinner.

The food is really really good. It sounds fancy, looks fancy and costs fancy but it is genuinely good. Also a very nice outside seating area. They have turned this restaurant that has gone through many hands in the last years into a really nice place.

Amazing place - serving beautifully presented delicious meals from quality produce... As well as first rate gastro-pub fare... Or it's a lovely place for reasonably priced soup and a sandwich! Friendly efficient service.

Sunday roast was excellent, desert not far behind. Very good as always.

Came here with my girlfriend for a post-graduation meal. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. Thoroughly recommend!

Excellent food; excellent service and a great location.Really recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere for a treat or special meal as it is above average prices, but well worth it. We've been a number of times and would definitely still go back.Good selection of beers too.Staff were great and very accommodating it our little boy.Try the Pickled Goose out!

We had an absolutely beautiful meal for my birthday at the Pickled Goose this evening. I ordered the 8oz Lamb and my friend ordered the Goosnargh Chicken. Both meals were out of this world. I could not reccomend anywhere else more that the Pickled Goose. Brilliant service with all COVID measures considered, kind and considerate staff, lovely drinks and even better food. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you to the team for such a wonderful meal and experience, it really made my birthday!
