"We are a traditional country pub serving a homemade, hearty food from Monday through till Sunday. We serve food from 12pm till 8pm on Monday to Friday and we serve food all day on the weekend with the addition of a very fairly priced and well sized Sunday Roast on a Sunday. We also have a big selection of different homemade desserts which go down a treat with all of our customers. We have a wide variety of Whiskys, Gins, Liquers and fine Beer which is constantly updated with new stock to keep things fresh and so we have something for all of our customers needs. No bookings are required through the week but are recommended on the weekend so you can guarantee a table. We hope to see you all soon!"

Nice country pub very close to the edge of Clitheroe. A good selection of food and drink at reasonable prices. The bridge has no footpath, may be best to drive.

I have been here twice, once when the eat out to help scheme out was on in summer and then again this weekend. Both times the food has been good. There is a good choice of food on the regular menu as well a nice specials board, all at a very reasonable price. This weekend however we were left a little disappointed. The salt and pepper chicken as a starter lacked the main ingredient ... salt, and the amount of chicken pieces you got was small, even for a starter. The garlic mushrooms however were absolutely lovely, again needed a little bit more salt, but the flavour was lovely and a decent portion size.Everyone in our group opted for the Sunday roast, I had a mix of chicken and lamb. It which was very flavoursome, the lamb was a bit fatty but that's the risk with lamb. My husband opted for chicken. For some reason they missed the mashed potato from his plate and stuffing off mine. We asked regarding the potatoes and they kindly brought them out for us.The main reason for the lack of the 5th star is the attentiveness of the staff. We had to ask twice to order our mains before a member of staff took our order. No one saw empty drinks glasses and thought to ask if we wanted any more. Nobody even asked if everything was OK with the food, we had to collar the waiter while he was clearing another table to ask for the mash. When we did order some more drinks they forgot, so we had to ask again, which was met with an excuse that the til wasn't sending orders through to the bar, this may have been the case but surely the waitresses who took the order should have noticed we hadn't been served our drinks. After finishing our meal we asked for the dessert menu. We ended up leaving before having dessert because we waited and waited for someone to take our order but the waitresses were too busy chatting with each other to see if we wanted anything. It's a shame because we all would have had a dessert and a liqueur coffee which would have left us happy and the pub with an extra £20-30 on top of the bill.To sum up - the food is good, bar the few little bits and reasonably priced but the service left much to be desired.

Beautiful quality food. We took our Son and Grandsons on Sunday for an early Tea. The lovely staff added an extra table because there five of us. Amazing food and the best Fish and Chips I have tasted. The lovely young lady serving us even went down to the cellar to get Vanilla Ice cream for our Grandson when they had run out in the kitchen. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Proper countryside pub grub. Not over priced and very generous. My partner had the gammon steak which he's now had on 3 visits and it's easily the best gammon steak he's had. I had one of the specials, cajun chicken burger which was delicious. Staff are lovely. Proud to call this our new local.

Incredibly good food, a warm welcome from the staff in a cosy old school pub. The chef is an absolute god. Decent taps and casks and a good selection of liquors. Go now!

Nice place for a drink, large car park and a variety for sale at the bar. The only reason I'm knocking off a star was the damp/water on the Ladies' Toilet's floor. However lovely place!
