Delicious food in very pleasant surroundings. Very quiet at lunchtime when we were there, expect it would be much busier at weekends, and as summer visitors are arriving. Ladies toilets are my only criticism as one wasn't working, and the other was too slow refilling from previous person, unable to flush. Needs fixing, and SOON! Beer garden was pleasant but is a small rough field of dandelions, and maybe we were too early in the season!

Have been going there for many years and intend to keep going . Everyone there have always made us feel at home. 10 stars.

Wonderful pub, full of character, and hasn't been modernised to death. Lovely pint of Lancaster Blonde and superb homemade food...Steak and Ale Pie is just delicious ! A regular stop when we're in Bowland.

Been coming here for several years and it’s a nice basic pub with decent ales and food. I only wish they had more beer choice as it tends to be lagers… staff here are hit & miss I’m sorry to say. The younger bubbly lady worked this weekend and she’s incredible at her job. Welcoming and happy always. (Sarah?). I wish she was in every day they’re open as I cannot say the same at all for the older lady who never once cracked a smile when serving us during our previous visit. Otherwise it would have been 5*

'Hidden Gem' What a great place to eat. A brilliant imaginative menu always lovely and hot. Nothing is to much trouble even "Pauls" chips, extra gravy for the superb pie, extra custard for puds. Its just really good food in a great pub.

Simply love this pub in a great part of the country. Food is always top notch, good choice of fine ales, shame it's so far away from my home. Recommend for anyone visiting the area, you won't be disappointed.

Arriving alone after a long day cycling I popped in here while waiting for the youth hostel over the road to open. Little did I know just how much this place would go to my heart. Immediately the landlady's big smile and welcome made me feel welcome. I was instantly made to feel like a local. Nothing too much trouble. The cask beer is in outstanding form. Later that evening I returned for Pork Loin and black pudding covered in bacon wow!!. It was that good I returned for a hearty breakfast and on the Friday night, an incredible fish Friday deal. Oh and on one night, there was a brass band playing! Everything is very reasonably priced and of a high standard. Great staff, great old building. A must visit.

Called in here last Monday after checking reviews, we were on route to the Ingleton area for the week having travelled up from the Midlands. We just had one of the specials listed, like a cheese and potato flan which was very tasty with salad etc, our lurcher dog was made to feel very welcome as were my wife and I. The pub was quiet. Food came out in next to no time. The landlady was very friendly. Parking is round the back. To be honest the pub doesn’t look much from the front and it looks to be a very quite little village but the pub is cosy and friendly inside and the service we couldn’t fault . I expect it gets a little more busier as the season moves on. If you’re after a quick stop off, good food etc you won’t be disappointed. You can stay here as well.
