Northcote Restaurant in Ribble Valley

Didn't stay at the hotel, just went for lunch. Just!!! Ha! What a lovely experience this was! The staff were wonderful. Michelin starred establishments are not on our normal radar, but this was such a relaxed and hugely enjoyable treat. Service was relaxed and unrushed. The food was sublime. I so want to do this again!

What an incredible evening. Our first child free date night in 14 months so we were really looking forward to a good night and Northcote well and truly delivered. The food and drinks were superb. The staff were attentive, welcoming and true professionals. We had a fantastic evening and hope to visit again soon. Very lucky to have such a fine establishment locally.

We'd been to Northcote many years ago. It was chosen today for a birthday lunch. I expected to enjoy the meal but it was way better than I expected. Each course was excellent with deep flavours, evidently skillful cooking and beautiful presentation. Service was friendly and attentive. One of the party wanted to change her choice of main course when we were actually at the table and it was done - top marks. The highlight was a theatrical Bramley apple pie which was not even remotely like any other apple pie I've ever seen or tasted.

My wife surprised me with a visit here for lunch on my Birthday. Our visit overall was pleasant, the food was exceptional and the majority of the waiting staff were very attentive, but unfortunately there was one that tarnished our experience. We found him to be quite rude, when we required his attention he regarded us like we were asking idiotic questions. It felt like we were a nuisance and he showed little patience for us. Unfortunately, this has made us not want to return

Lovely food and informed and attentive service. The ‘prawn toast’ was incredible and generally the food was excellent. The beef cheek was a little disappointing. It was beautifully rich and well cooked but there was nothing on the plate to cut through the richness and the side of mash was a bit gloopy and added more to the richness of the dish.

Really nice lunch last week at northcote. Thanks for catering to my veganism in an inclusive way and giving me a special dining experience. The food was delicious. Only one thing - my aubergine steak was small and has much fewer calories than a chicken breast so it would be great if you could supply more volume of aubergine to balance this difference. Thanks.

Let’s start by saying that the food was good. Not as good as The White Swan at Fence but good and good value for the cost. There were issues. Slow to get drinks whilst waiting and no offer of canapés that were offered to everyone else. In addition didn’t get the coffee I ordered. Staff on serving were excellent.

In short: worth every penny.We attended Obsession 22, one of the party is clinical vulnerable. Despite the rules/laws being relaxed every effort was made to allow our party to enjoy the experience. There is a culture of fantastic customer service without fuss. Jonathan from front of house really went above and beyond all evening. The housekeeping ladies were polite and diligent. The room was spotless, I think even the fronts of the wardrobes had been polished! Obviously the Obsession food and wine was incredible, the breakfast was lovely too. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we look forward to visiting again soon

I start with the food, which was our reason for being there. Our expectations were high, given the reputation of Lisa Goodwin Allen. Wow, we were blown away. We have been lucky enough to enjoy many Michelin star meals however, this was another level. Each course of the tasting menu was exceptional, with the fish course, Turbot and Hen of the Woods, being outstanding. The bread that was served was the best I have ever eaten. The service at dinner matched the food and all staff were so accommodating. Food at breakfast was excellent quality, although service on the Sunday morning fell a little short with waiting times too long. However Mondays was as it should be. Our room was very clean and comfortable with everything you would need. All in all an excellent 2 night stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Definitely Covid safe and all you could ask for from high quality accommodation.

Amazing food. We had the set Sunday lunch menu, each course was truly spectacular. The waiting on staff described every ingredient on the dish with such knowledge and clarity, and would recommend wine pairings The atmosphere was superb and we felt very much looked after, nothing was too much trouble, everyone very jolly and attentive. Would highly recommend a visit. Outstanding!
