The food was lovely (Good Friday fish special) but the service was slow and staff were not attentive in the circumstances. Arrived 20 minutes early for a reservation and it took 2 hours for 3 courses. I appreciate there is a national shortage of staff but it wasn’t that busy (not all tables were accommodated and the ones that were, only had 2/3 people). A shame really as was looking forward to this after their recent No.2 crown in the top 50 UK pubs.

Absolutely amazing place! Food was out of this world, staff were friendly and helpful, like you were part of the family, lovely cosy place to be too and it will be equally nice to sit outside in summer, beautiful surroundings! Important to book in advance though

The tone of some of the owner's replies to negative feedback almost put me off dining there. That would have been a big mistake. The owners and staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent. We will be eating there again!

After much anticipation I finally dined at the Parker’s Arms .. what a huge disappointment. How this restaurant can sit alongside and be rated with the Freemasons and The Angel is quite beyond me .Too much to say about the food so easier to just say I won’t be returning.. which I am sure will not bother the staff one iota

From the moment we stepped into the Parkers Arms we were given a lovely warm welcome! Great fun and fabulous food! We enjoyed every delicious course. What lovely people too. Really relaxed and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be visiting again. Fantastic!

There's some mixed reviews for the Parkers and for the life of me I've no idea why??Having had the pleasure of dining here on several occasions I've only ever had exceptional food in the perfect setting with brilliant friendly service! If your locking for Michelin stuffiness then this isn't the place for you ,but if want seasonal locally sourced produce cooked perfectly in a welcoming cosy country pub then this is it.We'll done to all the team at The Parkers on being voted no.2 in the gastro pub awards and I look forward to my next visit!

Just eaten the best mutton pie ever with subtle curry sauce! Lived up to the Hairy Bikers positive comments. Staff very friendly despite being a bit short staffed...they were very busy! The pork chop was also french trimmed and perfectly cooked with a rhubarb sauce twist that worked perfectly! Fabulous unusual starters including local cockles with a seaweed confe and superb anchovy starter...we will definitely be back! Thankyou

How on earth people can give this wonderful place a negative astonishes us!! We’ve just had a lovely 10th anniversary lunch together with our dog in the bar area and the food, the welcome and the service were all exquisite. 10/10. 5 ⭐️ thanks very much for making our day extra special.

Incredibly Disappointing. After seeing the Hairy Bikers visit the pub we had been wanting to visit here for some time so we attempted to book this week. But I genuinely do not know why we bothered.Visiting the website we noticed that you could not view the menus (not to worry, we both knew we wanted to try and sample the delicious pies). We booked online. Giving all our contact details and our Pre Payment information for our deposit. Pretty standard so far.We then got an email the next day asking us to confirm the booking . We clicked to confirm. Great. We then got another email a few hours later - your booking has been cancelled.Very confusing. We looked on the website and found a contact number. After being in an automated service for 5 mins, the call ended by telling us we needed to email as the phone number was not manned (why bother having a number in that case?).We instead therefore emailed to enquire why our booking had been cancelled (the payment details were correct, valid and had more than enough funds. We were responded to simply with a very curt and very unfriendly response ‘your payment method failed.’ No apology, no understanding as to why they had not called us.We responded in kind, wondering why we had not been contacted if there was a payment method rather than a faceless and very unfriendly auto cancellation and again was met with a very curt and almost rude reply saying ‘this is how our bookings are handled as per our terms and conditions. For an eatery that had to refuse bookings due to Covid restrictions and loss of staff having to isolate, they have a very perculiar way of trying to bring in custom from a couple who would be more than willing to spend on a lovely lunch and drinks. It’s safe to say we will not attempt to venture again, and will actively warn friends and family not to do so either.Clearly the Hairy Bikers segment should have come with a warning. Food great, service awful, even before you've stepped through the door.Edit - having looked at other reviews I can see that this issue is not isolated to us and the owner seems to attack negative reviews based on their own service. This is truly appalling and not how to run a customer facing business.Instead of lashing out at customers - maybe they need to take a long hard think about if they work in the correct industry.UPDATE - owner has replied and claimed fraudulent card - yet we managed to book for dinner at a local restaurant in Waddington with no problem using the exact same card.I think you need to take a long hard look at how you deal with customers rather than attacking them. We tried to contact you amicably via multiple methods to resolve this but somehow we are made to be felt ‘inferior’ which is the first time ever we’ve made to be felt this way.The friendly persona you had on the Hairy Bikers show is frighteningly obvious just a publicity thing. I have no doubt your food is amazing as I’ve been following you on social for some time, But calling us out for not visiting when the review clearly calls out your booking system as stopping us from booking is incredibly misguided.FURTHER UPDATE - had a wonderful lunch at Waddington Arms. Great service, great food, and most importantly a friendly owner. Makes all the difference. All paid for with the same card you seemingly claim is fraudulent……

We ate here yesterday evening motivated by the ratings and reviews: all thoroughly deserved! Excellent food from fresh ingredients intelligently and skillfully prepared but without being overly elaborate. 3 courses, all with good choices, at a price of £35 is more than great value. Pleasing surroundings and effective service which, although stretched by current circumstances, is held in place by an experienced core group. We lived in France for 8 years and there used to be restaurants with cuisine like this in many locations but sadly they seem fewer and fewer: this restaurant should be cherished.y
