Loved eating here...It was really busy when we arrived, but they still treated us as if we were their only and most important customers. Shown to a table in the bar and given menus to browse, drinks orders taken with polite chat. Even though the place was packed and we'd expected to have a wait, the proprietor noticed us and came to say hello also made sure that we were soon taken through to our table. Food arrived 😋 and it was delicious, the staff were polite and attentive nothing to much trouble. Great evening thank you from the Tye family ...

This is the best curry we’ve tasted in over ten years. We are up on holiday in the area and it was recommended to us; we were not disappointed. The depth of flavours in the curries were wonderful and my onion bhajis were amazing too and I’ve eaten a few in my time!! If we are passing here again we will definitely stop by.

I've been going to this restaurant fairly regularly over the last 20 years or more. It has always been very efficiently run with helpful, friendly staff. The food has been good enough to entice me back time and time again although, even so, I wouldn't have classed it as outstanding. However, I visited on 12th March 2022 and both myself and the other three members of my party were blown away by the excellence of the food served. It was absolutely fabulous. The meat (chicken for three of us and lamb for another) was perfectly cooked and succulent and the taste was sensational. It was always a "nice" place to go for a pleasant Indian meal in this area, now it must be THE place to go in the area. I would recommend it without hesitation if the quality remains this high.

On entering, ushered quickly into the bar despite pre-booking and arriving on time. The manager got a bit rude of us when we explained we just wanted to eat, no pre-drinks. We were seated shortly after. Extremely busy and no social distancing, all crammed in.Cutlery was dirty on 3 of our positions. Explained to a member of staff who agreed it was dirty and walked off, not resolving it at all. Food ordered and cutlery then sorted when we raised the issue again.Food arrived. 2 of the plates were dirty. One had a clump of food which the waiter scraped off with his finger nail and then put back on the trolley to be used with the next table.Food was mixed. Some of us had amazing dishes, others had poor dishes. Very hurried through the courses and quickly finished to get us out once done.Food being taken around the place on a 3 tier trolley. The bottom tier near people's feet and no doubt getting a light coating of dust and dirt. The middle tier we watched people's coats dipping in and out of, including our own.Would not return just on the basis of cleanliness.

As ever, food at Shajan was excellent. It's great to see a restaurant bounce back after Covid with the place being full of diners. The downside of this is that we had to wait a very long time for our meal on Friday. The restaurant needs to manage this better at the busiest times. Otherwise it was a great night with brilliant food and the serving staff were very good as usual.

Good food and location. The presentation and attention is good. Good car parking and ease of access. It is licensed, and can be noisy as good place for groups but well mannered. Prawns dishes seemed well made and other curries good if slightly oily. Overall good and popular with meetings as has a separate meeting room

We did not book and turned up on a very busy Saturday evening. Was shown to a table straight away despite a very busy evening.Waiters were very attentive and was not waiting long to order.Food was spot on and very tasty all be it a little pricy.Would definitely return and recommend in the future.
