The Emporium in Ribble Valley

Lovely ambiance, and have had great food there in the past. But yesterday they appeared to be understaffed as our first drinks took a long to arrive, and my coffee was almost cold. We ordered more drinks later in the morning... they didn't arrive until I had checked at the bar, and was told they had not been put through!

The food was great, as always but the service is very slow. We had to wait 15 minutes to order. Our food arrived an hour after that. And it only came after we prompted the manager. Its our second visit and we experienced the same problem previously. Such a shame. Ambiance good. Staff friendly.

Went on Saturday just after noon. Were happy to have the two of us including our 2 dogs. Service was prompt, choice vast and loads of suggestions for drinks.Gluton free choices were great.Glad we went when we did as by the time we were leaving at about one there was a queue at the door.

Great venue for an impromtu gathering. When more folks in our group arrived at short notice, staff were most accommodating and relocated us to a bigger table, despite it being a busy Sunday. Eclectic decor, good vibe, lovely food. Will certainly return.

Typically you can forgive a delay in the kitchen if the quality justifies the price, or provided with attentive table service. Both lacking in our experience today. We waited for over an hour for food to arrive, with no apology for delay. Food substandard, unedible or missing ingredients listed on the menu. The children's food of sausage and beans seemed to be the best meal on the table.

Tasty food with generous portions. Nice decor. Poor customer service from the bar staff (short man in particular), verging on rude and waiting staff are very slow and don't seem to know what's going on.

Had lunch here today. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. Will definitely go again.

Great menu - enjoyed the food and atmosphere. However, whilst service was good and efficient, it was a little on the brisk side - didn't get a chance to ask for something else before waitress rushed off. Still would recommend highly but maybe at a time other than Saturday lunchtime when they are super busy.

The Emporium has quite a few vegan options on the menu, but dishes were badly executed.The bizarre thing was the waitress (think Manager) didn't write anything down when we ordered which resulted in a mix up with our starters. How you can remember everything especially with people with allergies or requests is a stupid thing to do.Two lots of onion bhajis were served, when we only ordered one and one had to go back to the kitchen. This is why we think the cauliflower wings with mango dressing was so poor as the kitchen rushed it. It was basically boiled cauliflower with some kind of sauce (couldn't distinguish whether it was the mango dressing as per the menu?) over the top. The strangest cauliflower wings ever and we've eaten many A butternut squash and beetroot salad (which the Manager said was a large portion and too big as a starter) was anything but it was small and for £12 a complete rip off.Falafel pizza (minus cheese which my husband prefers) had a base like a Jacobs cream cracker (as did our friends cheese pizza) and was as dry as old hat and he couldn't tell if it had the humous drizzle on or not as described on the menu. We've eaten cheeseless pizza all over the world including the famous Marinara pizza so just because there is no cheese doesn't mean it has to be dry. Mushroom risotto was a huge quite dry dish with hardly any mushrooms way too much rice (didn't look like arborio or carnaroli rice), I've had much better and left most of itThe only saving grace was I recognised a wine on the menu La Joya Gran Reserva Viognier which is Vegan Society approved but overall the experience was not brilliant.Won't be rushing back.

Just great. We had two of their house burgers with proper chips. Fab. Service staff fantastic and overall ambiance superb. Please ask to have your burger in a plate though!
