An excellent meal with friends at this lovely country Pub. A glass of Prosecco was followed by a beautifully cooked & tasty fillet steak with fries & a chocolate bar with salted caramel ice cream & honeycomb - fabulous. A burger was eaten by 1 friend which he enjoyed. My husband & other friend had the Cheese Soufflé with Apple chutney which was very tasty & then the Lamb special - Tandoori Lamb with potatoes which they loved followed by Rhubarb Cheesecake with ginger. The sites Beer & a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. We all enjoyed the great food with friendly service.

Lovely food in a friendly comfortable atmosphere. The menu has pub classics as well as seasonal specials with plenty of choice. Will definitely return.

I absolutely LOVE this place. Dog friendly. If you're looking for cheap, filling mediocre food don't bother but if you want top notch, excellent pub food this is the place. The wild garlic and mushroom chicken is the tenderest, most moist chicken I've had in years. So delicious.

Organised a large group pub lunch and we were easily accommodated. Service was relaxed and friendly and efficient. There was a good selection of drinks and food was very tasty. Honestly couldn't complain about anything and would happily go back!

First visit to eat at the Higher Buck. It most certainly will not be the last! We had a terrific Sunday lunch at the weekend - the food and service were excellent, as was the beer. Thank you! We are looking forward to our next visit already.

The food was delicious, the beer excellent, the service friendly and attentive without ever feeling intrusive. The pub itself is lovely, as is the village. All in all, a spot on experience, the Higher Buck more than lived up to its reputation.

We went for a lunch on Saturday, I have to say it was all really very good. The food was excellent, my only gripe was the spring greens had garlic in them and it wasn't to my taste, would have preferred just plain buttered greens. The queenie scallops and the soup were delicious.I had the suet steak pudding, the suet was so soft, amazing. All the puddings were again excellent.Service was fantastic, very attentive. We live in Cheshire and it was definitely worth the drive. Can't wait to go back!

A family party of seven, 3 vegans, we all enjoyed our meals. Busy restaurant, but staff friendly & efficient, especially appreciated, as we were leaving, a thank you from one of the staff (man with a beard). Lovely restaurant, I wish them a successful future.
