I'm not sure if it's due to Covid-19, but the restaurant was quieter than I expected. Lot's of people were doing takeaway. That said, the food was delicious. Up there with some of the best curry I have had. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overly attentive. I would definitely eat here again next time in town.

Now called Priti tajVery friendly, spacious restaurant and takeaway. Had a nice chat whilst waiting for our scrumptious takeaway. Service was super and the Himalayan chicken was superb the lamb tikka excellent. I recommend this restaurant. If we didn’t have our dog with us we would have returned to dine in the restaurant.

Restaurant quality food i think not, owner did replace food but still not satisfactory.1 mixed grill starter = 2 piece of chicken tandoor 1 samosa (soggy)and a infants effort at a seekh kebab, never seen one this poor before resembled chorizo with no flavour.1x chicken tikka balti, half full ???what we got 8 x piece of chicken tikka in gravy with half diced onion and sprinkle of corriander and half pint of gee.We should have got the following ingredients -1/2 large onion finely chopped3 cloves garlic - finely chopped1/2 inch piece of ginger - grated and finely chopped2 fresh green bird's eye chilli peppers1/2 large green or red pepper roughly chopped1 tomato - diced2 - 4 tbsp tomato puree2 tbs tandoori masala - good quality store bought or homemade2 tsp Madras curry powder225g (1/2 lb) - skinned and cut into 1 inch (2.5cm) chunks1 tbsp cider vinegar2 tbsp chopped corianderJuice of 1/2 limeSalt to tasteThe dish we got didnt resemble any of the above.1x chicken tikka jalfrezi swimming in gee or oil (not so much as the first time ) could'nt tell there was that much again the curry was missing half the ingredients and consisted of a base gravy 8 pieces of chicken 1 green chilli and a finely chopped onion to be fair it did taste like a jalfrezi and not so much oil but again not in my opinion this is restaurant quality food.700g pre-cooked chicken meat - See links to my cooking methods above.3 tablespoons vegetable oil1 onion thinly sliced1 tablespoon garlic paste1 tablespoon ginger - cut into match sticks1 red bell pepper thinly sliced4 green chilli peppers - finely chopped1 teaspoon red chilli powder2 tablespoons tomato puree5 cloves garlic finely chopped1 tablespoon cumin powder1 tablespoon dried fenugreek leaves1 tablespoon mango chutney1 small bunch chopped coriander leaves400ml curry sauce - See links to my recipes above.salt and pepper to tasteSo to end my experience of this place the owner seems a fair man as he replaced the food but its not all there and missing flavour freshness old school curry making saying that hes not the only one in the valley thats for sure.I just can not justify travelling all the way to Manchester just for my weekly fix and am about to give up for good.Place is clean and staff are nice and polite.Just wish somebody could cook a curry the same as they do in manchester. One last thing more for the owner here and i will be honest, the last too pics are what a balti and jalfrezi should look like :)

First ever visit. The restaurant is immaculate, the service was perfect and the food was delicious... My chicken was moist and tender the rice with lemon and cashew nuts was a treat in itself. The servings were very generous and beautifully presented.Thank-you Royal Taj for a lovely meal.
