Nice place, a little quiet, but nice homemade food at a good price.

·

It's a pub atmosphere, clean and friendly staff. The ate and the food was lovely and resenabley priced. Didn't notice any disabled access. Would go again.

·

Food excellent, however the menu suffered, as they had been rather busy, better get there before 16:00 hrs. Saying that the meat and potatoe pie was absolutely fantastic. And an add d bonus they serve Marston's Pedigree Amber.

Fantastic night spent in the Swan and Royal. Easy check in, the pub downstairs has a nice atmosphere, Comfortable bed, clean room and good pressure in the shower. Breakfast in the morning was tasty as well. Highly recommend!

Stayed here feb 2022 for a weekend for valentines, we were greeted by Mary Jo wat a lovely lady she is great. The room was really good, very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and the lovely even went out and got me some semi skimmed milk as I dont drink tea or coffee. We had a meal the following day myself and the hubby had the chicken sizzler and chips and yes big portions and it was fantastic. We have stayed here before and we wouldnt stay anywhere else lovely pub and great atmosphere.

Warm, comfortable & friendly. Nice traditional interior design & Very Good roast meal. Excellent Value for pensioners.

Lovely place to stay. From the word go staff so friendly and hospitable. Same lady on reception also assisted with breakfast in the morning. Lovely bubbly lady who clearly enjoyed her work. Great location. Parking recommended in a multi story carpark nearby. Staff gave clear written directions. Highly recommend 👌

The room was £45 per night. Single room. The room hadn't been cleaned and dusted beyond the basic top surfaces, the carpet had wet looking dark/dirty patches, the ceiling has obviously collapsed at some point and been repaired with little to no visual regard whatsoever, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls where the wardrobe is and the floor was uneven, noisy and moved as you walked on it. The Bathroom floor was even worse. The shower was a DIY installation and was mouldy along the silicon join between the bath and the tiles. The toilet brush was reminiscent of the bathroom in trainspotting. It was called the Andreson room because Ian Andreson from Jethro Tull stayed there and allegedly wrote one brown mouse there, I suspect the mouse was found in the bed, probably dead. The punchline came when I pulled back the bed, the white sheet seemed clean enough, but low and behold a bold and proud pubic hair was there waiting for me, staring at me like as if to say "oh yeah, what are you going to do about it?".The staff were young lads on a Friday night bar job, the fire escape lying open, all in all, at £45 I feel I overpaid by about £44.99 and would never subject myself to a stay there again. I got a great set of photos to match and wrote the whole thing off as an utterly terrible experience... Do yourself a favour, don't stay here. It's awful!Happy to supply pics if the business owner contests my account.

My partner child and I just walked into this pub for a quick lunch. There were probably 3 tables from 20 with customers but we were instantly treated with 'if you want food then no. We have some big parties in latter today'. Firstly we would have been roughly 40 minutes with our food. Secondly there was 2 adults and a 2 year old. Hardly a stretch to get us a small table. Lastly the blonde male and younger male bar person whole manner was rude and we left feeling like we were not wanted at all. Glad to take our custom elsewhere.

I eat here every time I go to Clitheroe with my parents. It is- hands down- the most consistently great quality pub fare. We all love the cheese and onion pie and my parents love the (very generous!) pensioners' special roast meal. I had a wonderful steak pudding last time. Always delicious and huge portions. Staff are helpful and accommodating- especially with my picky 5 year old!
