Top Shelf Pub!Cleanest pint of English Ale in years.Log Fire. Cosy vibe.Haddock was nice if a bit overcooked.Lovely Potato Dauphinois.Steak mushroom pudding tasted excellent.Sadly Frozen Chips in rapeseed oil.Cutting a fresh potato makes a large difference and sunflower oil doesn't smell bad. If the chips were on a parr with ale then it would be one of the best.

Some of the best food in Lancashire never been disappointed yet. Fantastic place to stop when walking if that's your thing . you Will need to book for evening meals. It's always busy.

Nice pub for drinks and food, but book first for meals, in a lovely little village with stream running down the lane.

Small cosy pub with friendly staff. The portions are huge so well worth the money and absolutely delicious.

This is a lovely local pub with great beer and delicious food. We received a warm welcome. The service was spot on. The menu was great, varied and full of local produce. Can certainly recommend the gammon, the fish pie and lamb chops. The whitebait as a starter was also tasty. A great way to spend a few hours on a blustery Saturday lunchtime

Short stay overnight in the pub car park with our motorhome . We enjoyed trying a few of the many real ales in the afternoon before ,all cozy by the open fire then returned later that evening to have a excellent meal with wine and tia Maria night cap . Staff very friendliness, choice of beers ,wines spirits excellent, food choice and quality A1 ,couldn't fault . Also had a peaceful night's sleep in the motorhome and woke to a fantastic view of the countryside .

A former CAMRA national pub of the year and recent recipient of a CAMRA 50 year certificate. All well deserved. Lovely village location and very friendly. Good choice of beers. Pretty beer garden plus seating outside to the front. Well worth visiting.

Gorgeous well kept old country pub set in the beautuful tiny village of Pendleton. Had a lovely refreshing cask on a hot day sitting outside watching village life go - altogether a very pleasant experience. A little gem in a desert of true real ale pubs.NB disappointingly no dogs allowed inside which bars us on wet or cooler days.

My first visit as I happened to he passing by. A great beer garden, very neat and tidy, with stunning views of Pendle Hill.I had one of the guest ales and a burger off the main lunchtime menu. The burger looked and tasted homemade, topped with proper Cheddar cheese (no American sliced rubbish) and real bacon.I didn't manage to finish the chips I was too full.Staff were friendly and service was fast but not rushed.
