We had the special for a midweek lunch, which included fish and chips with mushy peas, bread and tea or coffee. The chips were chunky and not at all greasy. Although the fish/cod was a little greasy, it was lightly battered and tasty. We also enjoyed the mushy peas. The lady who seated us, took the order and served was outstanding: friendly, warm and welcoming. She did initially forget the tartar sauce and bread but brought them without being reminded by us and apologised so sincerely that we felt bad. She truly is a credit to the cafe/restaurant .We will definitely be back for more.

Excellent fish, chips and peas as usual. Excellent service too. We only live 3/4 of a mile down the road so it is great to have such a good place nearby.

The fish and chips in here is of exception standard. As good as it gets. Piping hot, tasty food, and reasonably priced for a top quality product.

Disappointed I don't think this is a full portion of chips. I used to like going there, not sure about it anymore. Tastes was good but I am still hungry.

Two people that entered the shop after us were served before us due to the pathetically slow staff member. After arriving home we then found that they had omitted the pie from one of our meals. This is the second time this has happened to us in the last four visits. How hard can it be to get, fish & chips once and pie & chips once, wrong? Not impressed 🙁👎

Very efficient, nice staff, had the homemade cheese and onion pie, I would definitely recommend it, had the cod fish previously which I also recommend highly, always gives you a generous portion. Definitely be going again .

Lovely little traditional fish and chip restaurant on the main road, with a take away right next door. Clean, bright and friendly staff. The haddock was delicious with a light crisp batter and dry thick cut chips. Really excellent.

A simple menu but the food is great. Cod and chips cooked really well, especially welcome after a nice walk around Hollingworth Lake on a chilly winter afternoon. The indoor seating isn't large but it's very clean with lovely staff serving.

Usually good but today it was a Very poor service with a rude server; an odd smile or manners goes a long way. Nor did it bother me that we had to queue for nearly half an hour, although with it been busy the fish should have been fresh. After one bite of the dried scaley offering which was nothing but batter, any fish inside was thin, dry and inedible No apology was given and didn't fancy another fish so was given a refund but was given for a small fish not the regular we purchased. Generally always go there but will buy elsewhere from now on.

Friendly staff with a good service. We had the Thomas special for 2 which was around £20ish for fish and chips with mushy peas pot of tea and bread. Not bad its was filing
