Had the cheese and onion pie with chips and gravy. Delicious. Staff nice and friendly, this is a lovely pub right in the foothills of the pennines, with great views of Manchester in the distance.

Good atmosphere. Great food. Very efficient service. Steps and a ramp up to the inn. Parking is accessible. Well worth a visit. Prices seem reasonable.

I used to come here all the time with my parents growing up but I haven't been for years! We turned up on spec and we're pleased to find a table at tea time on a Sunday evening. We both ordered cheese and onion pie and my husband "pimped" his chips with pulled pork and cheese. The food was good value as well as tasty and filling and the surroundings were very comfortable. The cosy lighting and a toasty log fire were very welcome. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely, large, rustic, clean pub and restaurant with great countryside views from the two conservatories or outside on the recently extended terrace. Always great food here and the menu options have now increased. I had the BBQ spare ribs recently added to the menu which didn't disappoint. Meat falling off the bone, so tasty! Staff very welcoming and table service is great. Plenty of parking spaces and dog friendly

2nd time I've had the fillet here and both times have been amazing. Cooked perfectly, well seasoned and rested. I'm normally hard to please (ex chef) but it was outstanding. It used to be a bit hit and miss but not sure if the chefs have changed or something but it's been brilliant the past few times. Would highly recommend

On entering initial staff friendly. Food delicious and cooked and presented well. Serving staff in need of improvement. Empty crockery on the table a long time having to ask for cups and saucers to be taken away. Toilets lovely and clean but toilet seat in ladies loose ..dangerous.Has changed hands so a bit understandard to what we have had before.

We love the Pack Horse. We call in for a pint when out walking and often have our tea or a bit of lunch. Great pint of John Willie Lees, Manchester Craft Lager and of course Guinness. Good pub grub served with a smile. The outside dinning was hastily extended and upgraded to coincide with the end of lockdown. The table service was fast and efficient during the 'outside only' period and you have been a sanity lifesaver as lockdown was slowly lifted. Keep up the good work.

Love this place. The staff are all lovely and the service is amazing. Their home made nachos are the best around. I've never had a bad meal from here.

Stumbled on this place during a bike ride. Lovely outdoor area. The staff were great. We were seated quickly, and our orders taken efficiently. It wasn't too long before our drinks and food was brought out, and the food was good. We both went for the vegan burger which was delicious. I asked for mine without the burger bun and when it came out it came out with the hummus on the side. My partner asked if hers had been missed (first time we had eaten here and not realised it was on the inside of her bun) and the staff member got her more hummus anyway. Just really great service and a lovely atmosphere. Was a good price too. My only complaint was my fries were a bit too salty, but that is my personal preference, I imagine most people like it the way they were. It's just next to a nice public footpath that takes you across some fields towards a wooded area so it's good if you fancy a walk afterwards too :)
