Very nice location and not too busy in a city center. The restaurant upstairs is quite well laid out and the views at the back especially during the day of the fields and countryside is very enjoyable. The food is of good quality although there can be limited options but that does lead to things being of a better quality. Service appeared to be very good with attentive staff. Nice rustic type wooden feel inside the place but quite solid tables. Parking is normally quite good and just be careful on exiting as it is quite a busy road that immediately goes on to with one or two bends nearby - the road outside has a 40 mph limit and people do sometimes exceed that especially as there is a hill which is descended before the road rises on the left hand side. Starters and mains were very good although you may still be hungry but the desserts were really nice although can be a little rich for some tastes. Advisable to probably get a scoop of ice cream to try and even things out. Overall a good quality place and whilst slightly away from where most places would be located, it is a place to try.

Saying this up front...we loved Nutters and had not really ever thought about going anywhere else but now we have to look elsewhere. Whilst nothing like Nutters we had a lovely meal and have booked again for our wedding anniversary in July. The food was well presented and tasty and there is a good selection of drinks. I'm not a lover of gravy and my main meal..the beef...was awash with it but not an issue as it just went back to be replated minus the gravy...π the desserts were delicious πAll in all we had a lovely lunch and are looking forward to our next visit for our anniversary.

This is an absolute must! We will be back for sure!! Extremely friendly and attentive staff, coupled with a great menu and an eye for detail chef. Two starters, two mains, two wines and a pint for Β£75! One of the mains was the most expensive on the menu but still worth every penny. Congratulations on what appears to be a smooth transition from Nutters to here. Pay this place a visit......you won't be disappointed!

Food was fabulous. Worth the drive out. Staff were great too. Fixings and furniture need some love, especially the toilets - two of the four ladies were out of order, and the one I was in had lost it's handle so hard to flush! But overall a good experience.

Went for Friday evening dinner with a group of friends and was very disappointed. Food was average and service was slow. We were asked to leave our table at 2145 as the restaurant was closing but we could sit in the bar. We therefore moved to the bar but then told that it was closing and we had to pay our bill after ordering a round of drinks. The staff appeared to be very keen to go home or elsewhere. Definitely would not return :-(

The food and service were superb. Nothing was too much trouble, staff were helpful and polite and the food was excellent. Highly recommend.

We usually have no problem here, nice meal and good service. However, tonight, we had an unpleasant experience with the most unprofessional and quite obnoxious waitress. We were incredulous at the manner in which she spoke to me. Upon speaking with who we believed to be the manager, he listened to our grievance and said he would look into the matter. He did not return to us at any point in the evening. Really, really disappointed. Really amateur service tonight

Absolutely lovely place for a treat, really enjoyed our family Sunday roast, not too expensive as 3 course Sunday meal was only Β£28 pp. Lovely setting looking across the hills, will definitely be back.
