The Elephant & Castle in Rochdale

My first time visit on a Wednesday with my friend. The service, Food & surroundings where really fantastic. Lovely pub and will recommend to others and also definitely go again. Many thanks to all the team.

Lovely local pub, however recently very expensive. £23.40 for two double g&t's seems extortionate. These are city centre/20 stories prices... shame as the food has actually improved quite a lot lately. Good luck, but I won't be returning for a while..

Good food served by friendly staff. Nice relaxing environment.

Warm, cozy atmosphere. The quality of the food is excellent and more than worth the price. Nice surroundings and modern, clean toilet facilities. Very friendly staff. Will defo be going there again x

Popped in for lunch last minute. Hot beef sandwich was , delicious. Great price, lovely staff and surroundings would highly recommend a visit.

Over priced and undercooked veg.Eat elsewhere as a safe bet.It’s a shame when someone uses the phrase ‘Al Dente’ (the correct spelling) when serving under cooked vegetables, instead of the correct wording; raw…The phrase is actually meant for the correct cooking of pasta.Also, what a waste of locally sourced produce….!!Reviews on eateries on line are for meant as a learning curve… This review has unfortunately hit a dead end on this occasion…!!

The food was average on the whole. Steak horrible peppercorn sauce disgusting. Rag pudding lovely. Buyer beware £5.20 for a decent lager and a service charge who does a service charge. £80 for three meals and drink each.

We went as a couple and the food was nice. Had a main meal each and 2 drinks, however beware they charge you 10% service charge on food and drink. This was not brought to my attention, gave the waitress £3.00 tip then paid. Found I paid another £5.00 on top of that. So when getting a pint of peroni at £5.50 it's really costing you £6.05 which I find extortionate. Was planning to go back but not now. Even at the pavilion they do not charge for service unless its a large party. Please be aware as its only pub at the end of the day

Simple but delicious food. Warm welcome, great service. Cosy and clean with pigs in blankets to die for. Thank you for a great time. We will be back soon.

Great service, pleasant staff and fantastic food. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Elephant burger a definite recommendation
