The Gallows in Rochdale

Excellent pub where we bought Sunday Dinner. The food is well cooked (vegetables cooked right, not like other restaurants where vegetables are so overcooked they resemble flavourless rags); meat well cooked and tasty, not chewy.Staff friendly and welcoming.Priced to perfection.If you want a Sunday dinner that delivers good portions, well cooked and reasonably priced then I wholeheartedly recommend The Gallows.

We had an early Mother’s Day meal there and it was fantastic. The cheese and onion pie was perfect, just my kind of cheese, and plenty of it. The Steak pudding in suet contained plenty of real steak, and was gorgeous, and the Burger was scrumptious served on a lovely bread. Chips, peas and mushy were all really good. Then the sweets, black cherry cheesecake on a crumbly base and Eton mess. Delicious. Needless to say we booked another visit in three weeks. Five star.

Excellent food and service.Great value for money, especially the Sunday dinner.I would recommend to book for a weekend.Having not been to The Gallows in a while, I was really pleased with everything.We had a child with us but was only given a Sunday menu. When asked if they had a menu for children, they were more than happy to accommodate.Will definitely be returning.

My partner and her family were there on 18th march, lovely food, lovely staff service was good although the dessert was a little slow. I don't mind pets as long as they are on the floor and not on the seats at table height. May go back, don't know.

Having read reviews decided to give it a whirl, unfortunately food ordered was average at best, minted lamb burger overcooked, tasted like it was a frozen burger warmed up extremely bland, given the fact it was £14.50 is overpriced in my honest opinion for what came out. Nice pub but I'd only return for a pint of Heineken, shame as its a nice location.

Just had a meal for 10.. for my sons 21st and I couldn't be happier. A smaller menu than some place, but this reflected in the quality in the food.top makes. The staff were excellent nothing was to much trouble even with a baby crawling around at times. Would recommend the Gallows to anyone....

Just been in after a few year's. Food then was cooked this time though. Well my grandsons meal was out in just over 4 minute's chicken strips. And ours followed in 7 minute's which you could tell was all microwaved. Absolutely gutted what a shame even my steak knife struggled with the beef. Kept my mouth closed as I was with family. Soz guy's . The staff are lovely

All though it's our local pub we haven't been in the Gallows for maybe 20 years. The last time we went in there it appeared to be a man's pub with large TV screens showing football etc.Today has been a lovely surprise . The pub has been very tastefully revamped. The staff were so friendly and the food was excellent.I highly recommend it.

Fantastic food today in the Gallows. Lobster ravioli to die for, chicken stuffed with sun blushed tomatoes, wrapped in Parma ham, on a bed of lovely Pesto. Staff so friendly, smiling and efficient. Best meal out for ages will go back

A great pub lunch.I had the brisket & my partner had the chicken wrapped in parma ham; both of which were lovely.There is also a cute little dog that came to say hello which was a bonus.
