Wilbutts Lane Chipy in Rochdale

Despite the queue yesterday (we'd brought 2000+ fans with us) the staff were friendly and efficient.The short-ish wait was well worth it - the food was good quality, plentiful and excellent value.Then, Bristol Rovers came back from 3-1 down to beat Rochale 4-3.Happy Days & Up The Gas!

In terms of the food the fish was nice and flakey. The batter was crispy. Slightly greasy but what you sort of expect. Chips were not bad, sort of standard. Dropped a star because I paid £12 for fish and chips with curry sauce and chips with gravy sauce. It should have come to about a tenner. Think they’ve either put the price of a fish up or ripped me off

Absolutely the BEST Fish n Chips I have had in a long time. Lovely White, meaty Fish and light crispy batter, chips were perfect. Always go here when visiting Rochdale to watch football. "PROPER CHIPPY" 👏👏👏😋

Have been going to this chippy for 25+ years. Value for money is always amazing. Slightly surprised to have curry sauce and mushy peas poured over fish and chips rather than served in containers. No complaints as ever about the quality of the food.

Superb chippy. Food is always top quality. Unfortunately for me my appetite means I can't manage to eat all of the massive portions of chips they serve. Friendly and helpful staff.

Without doubt the best chippy for miles around, heck I'd even say the northwest, you seriously have to go to Whitby to get better. Other chippies get close for quality but none are as consistent as this place. Let's face it, sausage and pies are pretty much the same the whole country, so you have to judge a chip shop on its fish and chips. The chips are always good here, not the best but very good none the less, the fish however is consistently top notch and this is what makes the sun of its parts add up to the best around. I've NEVER once had sub par fish from this place which again marks it out as the best around. Do yourself a favour and change your local chippy to Wilbutts Lane, you'll never look back.

Always come here before a Rochdale game and on a Friday evening . Best chippy in Rochdale the fish and chips are gorgeous !

This is an excellent old-fashioned chippy, that does fish 'n' chips and, er, anything possible & chips.It's situated in a row of terraced houses and it's obvious it was once someone's living room! The houses are next to (yes, right next to) Rochdale AFC's Spotland Stadium's WIllbutts Lane end. Worth going to for the location alone.I was there as an away fan and was welcome.Fish cake & chips for £3 did the trick.
