Thatch and Thistle in Rossendale

Went here for lunch with friends my first time. Large carpark, it was a hot sunny day so we all decided to sit outside. I had a light lunch, tried the New Cauliflower bites, very impressed with portion, quality & taste, very satisfactory, washed down with a larger shandy 😃

Enjoyed another fabulous meal there with family. My daughter and I both opted for the lasagna with chips, my dad and hubby both picked from the big plate specials..... and neither of them could finish it their meals were so big! Was going to give a shout out to the 2 wonderful staff who served us our food and on the bar.... but I can't remember their names🙈🙉🙈I guess that means I will have to go back again soon🤣thanks guys x

First time visiting. Was quite busy but got served fairly quickly. Lots of places to sit, eat & drink . Good choice on menu & good value for money. Food arrived quickly

Had a lovely experience however music was quite loud which made people have to talk louder so felt a bit roudy. However you couldn't knock the food it's amazing staff are friendly and get on with it.

The Hungry Horse menu is great and the bar staff were efficient and pleasant, but the food is the main reason for visiting and the place was let down by the way the food was cooked and the cleanliness of the dining area. I ordered and got an all day breakfast and it arrived on a warm plate, which was fine, but the tomato was hard, barely cooked, and barely warm, and the mushrooms and beans were barely warm too. Also, there was tomato sauce and other food on the wall against which we were sitting, and whilst the urinals in the gents were clean the large white pipes running under each urinal were dirty and dusty. So, Hungry Horse menu and bar staff were great, but chef and cleaners are letting the place down. I always seek out Hungry Horse when away from home, and deliberately went to this one, but I'm sorry to say this is one I won't be going to again any time soon.

Good service but the menu was incredibly sticky and the food was not the best. Pretty dry. Its not expensive though.

Inside kitchen is very poor, the food came cold (Vegetarian option), the inside vegan meat was hard like a brick, for this kind of food I would kick out that Chef straight away... the taste similar to the Farm foods freezers, honestly. The Peroni beer also different taste than from other Pubs. The table wasn't clean, table was shaky... For the amount of people coming in, very sad that no one cares about overall Pub condition, Food, etc. Great location, but this is it at the moment. Wish you to travel around Manchester pubs and check how most the of Pubs are clean, renovated, and food is just spot on.

Had a good cheap meal deal lunch. It was very quiet at 3pm on Monday which suited us. The young man behind the bar was efficient with our order... He let my husband sample 2 beers before choosing which one he prefared. He found me the gluten free menu which is very good. I wish I had got the young man's name he had a lovely manner very polite and had fair blonde hair well done Thatch and Thistle.. Don't let him leave. 😊

The staff were pretty much ok, food was nothing special.But the place needs a bit of a clean! Glass light shades very dusty, skirting, edges and ledges all needing a good wipe and polish. The photo I've added was of 3 plants in glass cases on a shelf behind me, it was thick with dust and fluff.

Food is great, atmosphere is good and the staff are friendly. Great place 👍
