Great little pub near Rawtenstall. A good pint of Robinson's served and nice food on offer. Bonus views from the pub garden of the East Lancashire Railway engines trundling through the valley below.

First time at this venue. Seemed dark and in great need of updating /decoration. The food was good and staff very pleasant but we were made aware, whilst having tea/coffee that the place was closing soon giving no opportunity for desserts if desired. This was at 3pm in the afternoon!! Long wait for meals to be prepared added to time factor although we were told they were very busy. Unable to sit and chat following the meal.

A fantastic Birthday meal for my wife today. We had a large party and the whole team were excellent with us. We’ve been many times over the years and have always had amazing meals and service.

Faultless.Well, my only niggle is I couldn't find how to make an online booking so had to call and call all morning to get through and book.Once here, food was above average for "pub grub", lots of choice on the menu. All served promptly and piping hot.You could pay more and get less, you could pay more and get more but you can't pay less and get as good.

Lovely food and a warm welcome. Service was attentive without being intrusive. Would highly recommend a visit.

I have been visiting The Whitchaff for many years, albeit on rare occasions as I don't live nearby. The food has always been good and the people waiting table have been efficient, patient and good humoured. The prices are reasonable too. The trouble we find is that the bar is neglected at busy times and the meals seem to take forever to reach the table. It's sometimes nice to meet up and have a drink at the bar whilst waiting for all of the party to arrive so a friendly face and some service in that area would be welcome. I would recommend the dining experience but drinks at the bar...? It is a pub after all.

Lovely food all seemed home made and to a high standard and plenty of it . Beer was good with a wide variety of choice. Nice atmosphere and a bit of olde worlde charm staff were efficient. I would have given 5 stars but it was absolutely freezing in there , it was my first time there so I will give it another try but if it's that cold again it will be my last visit .

Myself and my mum visited the Whitchaff for the first time today and what a lovely experience we had! They had a great selection on the menu and what we ordered was super tasty. All the staff were really lovely and welcoming, we were checked on regularly to make sure all was well with our meals and asked if we needed more drinks often. Our server Tom was an absolute superstar and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed in a friendly and very polite manner. We will definitely be visiting again when we can!
