Visited today after a good walk, lovely welcome and served quickly and the chips and curry were one of the best Tasted and we have tried a few..!!!Throughly enjoyed our visit… Fantastic chippy.

I had a fish supper which was enjoyable. The fish was fresh and the batter was crispy, slightly greasy but what you expect really. The chips were a large portion and nicely cut with crispy-ish skin and fluffy potato inside. Very nice. The English curry sauce went down well with the fish and chips dipped in. The price was fairly cheap also.

Friendly service, great prices. Scored a 5 on their food hygiene rating and you can tell because it was all delicious 😋

Food was lovely i haven't been for a while. The lady working there was alone and it was extremely busy. She was very apologetic for the long wait, i felt sorry for her. Its a good chippy, clearly from the que. Maybe need to make sure you have extra hands to help her out in future.

Gone drastically down hill since new management took over. This place was the best chippy around, massive portions, chips cooked in meat dripping, and great staff. Chips now cooked in sunflower oil, rediculously small portions and served in cheap little polystyrene containers. Really disappointing how something so good can be so easily ruined!

Excited to go for fish and chips, the first time since Covid started. Disappointing to receive greasy chips and overcooked fish with a greasy, hard batter. Will try an alternative next time.I know there have been excellent reviews but this isn't one of them!

The first time I went to this chip shop was 36 years ago and I regularly went for many years until I recently revisited this place as I am originally from the local area but have not been back in a number of years so I had to go in. The food is Superb, it’s your old traditional style fish and chips taste with that old nostalgic Ora. The inside is all decorated magnificently, very clean and tidy, a 5 star food hygiene rating and the staff are pleasant and polite, always happy to help. The food hasn’t changed at all, it’s still excellent so I don’t know what to recommend as it is all good but I definitely recommend that if your ever in the area go into Whitworth Chippy, I guarantee you, you won’t be disappointed.10/10

Nicola has done an amazing job since taking over the chippy. Food is really good quality and priced very reasonably. All the girls who work there are friendly and service is quick. Its easy to see why Whitworth Chippy is so popular and would recommend people who havent tried here yet, give it a go 😀

The chips was like they had been reheated from the afternoon and my fish was none existed under all that batter. Very unhappy for the money we paid. They are better through the day. Will not be going again for are fish and chip tea.
