Captain Cod in Salford

Usually pretty good here. Went today just for pie n chips, was asked to wait a couple minutes. If id been told this was to microwave a pie i'd have picked something else. Soggy un cooked pastry and a lava filling. Yum 😒

I love Captain Cod! It is the best chippy in Salford in my opinion. The service is quick even during busy times and the food is always quality.

Food was perfect as always. Kebab was spot on and so was the fish, good service all round.

Great chippy fish is good size. they also do Great kids meals plus chicken kebabs which are highly recommended. Very clean, and Great fast service

I Love this Place . Due to a Move had not been for years, but last night I fancied Fresh Fish and Chips for first time in a long time. I went here, and again, they did not Disappoint me. The Fish was Delicious, and too the Chips with a Portion of Gravy. Loved it that much, I am going again Tonight, but this time with a Pot of Curry Sauce. MMMMMM Can't wait

Ordered 2 fish, 2 chips, a sausage , peas, gravy and an English curry tonight. When we drove all the way home and unpacked everything , the curry was the wrong curry it was Chinese not English and they had forgotten the sausage ( the only thing my 3 year old enjoys from the chippy ) we decided to just plate up and eat as by the time I would drive back to the chippy to tell them the rest of the food would be cold!Then when we sat down to eat , the fish looked great was a good size until We realised the majority of it was batter. £4.50 per fish for the majority of it being batter , I wish we never bothered. Having worked in a chippy myself for over 8 years I know that wasn’t worth the money whatsoever! Had high expectations for this place but will just stick to my usual from now on.( sorry for the bad review but it really did deserve it , maybe was having a bad day as some of the reviews are great on here , however our experience was poor)

I’ve given this place loads of chances as it’s local - started off good, then gone rapidly downhill in the last 6 months. Look at the state of those chips! Greasy, old oil, god knows how long they’d been sat there. That was from peak time - 7-7.30pm on a Friday. Would expect reheated chips at a random time, but not peak chippy time. Disgusting, went in the bin.
