Salford Museum & Art Gallery Cafe in Salford

Used to come here with grandad now im coming with my little girl. Love the Victorian street with all the old shop's pub and houses. I think they should make it longer put more in there.Coffee shop is lovely nice cup of coffee and salted caramel cake.Parking available onsite though make sure you got change otherwise its by parking app.We got the bus v1 and v2 from tyldesley stop right outside as do many others.Had a lovely walk round peel park reminiscing about old times where we used to live facing the park.

Lovely local museum. Loved the Victorian street (similar to Wigan Pier if anyone visited once upon a time). Worth a visit and then a visit to Peel Park behind.

So this is actually a very small museum but with the park behind it we actually had a really good time! The Victorian street is absolutely beautiful the kids really enjoyed it (my only niggle is its too dark you can't really see the carriages) there were a few Victorian machines which the kids liked (fortune teller £1 coin, grip test 10p coin, burning house 2x 20ps) the little sweet shop had pre packaged sweets you just pay a donation into the jar. The other galleries were also interesting just not to my kids 😅 its a beautiful building!There is a cafe which is reasonably priced and a gift shop, parking was £2.50 for 3 hours. Walk round the back and you will find peel park which has a really good play ground. We will definitely visit again

A compact and interesting museum. If I lived locally no doubt I would go in often! There was some affordable art on sale upstairs which was fantastic. The Victorian street was great, even if my son and I were a bit creeped out by it to start with (dark and noises to recreate the impression of street life at the time)! I loved the cafe area and gift shop.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Very clean, well stocked gift shop, fab cafe. Some amazing pieces on display, will definitely come again. Suggested donation is £3 (worth more imo)

Good place for art lovers, also history related items, and library.

Fabulous and even better it's absolutely free. Would recommend spending a few hours here if you get chance.

Great experience here. Dropped by for a quick visit before going back to London. We came down for a couple days on a birthday trip. Loved seeing the shop area showcasing local artists cards and prints for sale. Grabbed a gift for a friend. Favourite part was George Shepherd exhibit. I enjoy photography and love the story behind it, seeing the gems that were found and framed on the walls. Lovely polite member of staff greeted us at the desk on arrival and was very helpful. Upon our leaving they did ask how we found it, offered us recommendations and even told us that a couple ladies from one of the photos realised they were in one and brought their other friend from the photo along for an emotional reunion time.

Lovely place to visit, the old cobbled Street and old shops are still there along with 2 carriages which would've been horse drawn back in the day. The art gallery up the stairs full of painting are fabulous. There's some really huge ones hanging on the walls. There's also a cafe and gift shop on sight. At the back is Peel Park. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable .

Had a lovely trip to Salford museum not been for years loved every bit seeing the street again but especially loved seeing cheddar gorgeous creation of madam mort from little hulton,i live in little hulton now,absolutely amazing ,had a coffee and cake in the cafe lovely place lovely people,the park was beautiful too well worth the trip
