Hate writing bad reviews sorry Greyhound Hotel the double suite room was and is very run down we wouldn't even let our children sit on the sofa its disgusting very dirty! Stayed end of March the sun is up around 6.30am our curtains totally a waste of time.Up side beds were comfy and clean happy to support a local business with Covid-19 etc this place is struggling quite clearly staff are very friendly and the pool was great the kids enjoyed it. Would I stay again afraid not.

First off, the staff are friendly. Can't fault them. The rest however...- To say the hotel is dated would be an understatement. The dark furniture in the office rooms is all damaged and scratched and the paintwork is a state. The carpet seems to be something from the 1980s!- The windows DO NOT CLOSE. This is a problem particularly for the outward facing rooms as the hotel is on a very busy roundabout/road, the staff smoke and chat outside... You can hear EVERYTHING and there is no respite from it. Boy racers, sirens, the morning traffic... All in glorious HD.- You can't turn the heating down. You're condemned to whatever temperature the hotel is set to - it's impossible to turn the radiator off. Woke up feeling unwell and dehydrated as a result.- Here for 4 nights. No replacement of towels, beds are not made, mugs are not replaced. Yet to see a cleaning cart or any kind of upkeep going on....- There is only one bed side unit in the rooms.- The toilet barely flushes.- The bath enamel is peeling away and the fan is full of mould.- The doors don't block any noise.- It feels more like a homeless hostel going by some of the clientele.- The restroom by reception is DISGUSTING. Light bulbs out, broken toilet roll holders and dried brown substances on the remains of the toilet roll holders that have clearly been there for some time.- The "free WiFi" seldom works and when it does it's like 1999 dialup for speed. The hotel is in a bit of a phone signal dead zone too so you're stuffed if you need the Internet for anything.- I note in a review from last year that the lift wasn't working... It's still out of order. Appalling.Given the cost per room each night is 50% more expensive than a Travelodge room, you'd really hope for better. Will be leaving early.Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere. It's like the Ritz in comparison to this dump.

I've known the Greyhound hotel for many years, as I lived in Leigh for 23 years. Back in the 80's it had such an amazing reputation, silver service and the like.Today though I've got to say, why haven't you updated the hotel since then? It has the same dark wood furniture. Which I have no issues with but decor is in dire need of repair and a lick of paint.Everything has been done on the cheap, from the tiny TV to the cheap toilet paper.We are here in the hotel for 5 nights and at a cost of enough to give us as paying guest better quality toilet paper.I would like to say that the bed is comfortable though and the place is always clean.I beg The greyhound hotel to listen to your guest (previous reviews are on the same lines) and take action! As I say I've been coming here for years visiting family in the area and feel now I need to say my piece.

Myself and my daughter stayed for 3 nights, and neither of us were very impressed. A lot of the clientele here are not the best, I heard someone being threatened, fights were nearly breaking out. I actually wonder if it is a hotel or more a place for homeless to stay in.The first room we were put in, was covered in damp, it looked so bad in the bathroom, like the ceiling was going to fall in. It was next to the car park and the noisy road. We asked to go somewhere quieter, as having two dogs with us, we didn't want them barking at people outside the room. We were moved to the third floor, which was a slightly better room, but the lift wasn't working. When I asked when it would be repaired, I was told it wouldn't be anytime soon. The bed was incredibly hard, and having fibromyalgia, it actually caused me to be in more pain, and I had to have regular painkillers through the night.. The TV was incredibly small, and the room was very dated. Can't say I would be in a rush to go back. The lady on reception called Janelle, was very pleasant and helpful, and I had fish and chips in the pub next door, that was nice, my daughter had a burger, that too looked quite nice. Even though it has a pool, me and my daughter didn't fancy using it.

Rooms are very dated. Rips in the carpets and chairs. Corridors smelt damp. The pillows where unbelievably thin and grey.In the bar they seem to run out off everything. When ordering food they run out of chips!! I asked if the Rose wine was Zinfandel and reply was “what’s that”The whole place is In desperate need off refurbishment. We definitely would not stay again.

Review GreyhoundI visited The Greyhound Hotel, Leigh on Saturday (5th Feb 2022) with my youngest son. It was only a one night stay as I was recording a tv series just a stones throw away.The hotel was busy, which is always a good sign.Jackie who was on reception booked us in promptly, she was polite, professional and very helpful.We had the suite, which had two double beds and sofa. The room was spacious and comfortable.Unfortunately we didn’t have time to see all of the amenities, which included a swimming pool and gym. With a restaurant and bar located in the hotel this is an ideal place to stay for one or two nights.One last thank you to the lovely Natalie (once again if the name is wrong, my apologies) who said she would kindly send a diary that was left in my colleagues room back to her by post.I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be returning shortly.Warrington RoadLeighLancashireWN7 3XQ

Ok so I have given 5 stars for a very specific reason the staff are AMAZING and if it was not for them it would have only got a 3 and a not so happy customer. Its a real shame the hotel is in a good location , good size rooms Chantelle and the team are fantastic they go above and beyond to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible , and nothing is to much trouble really 5 star customer service in my opinion. Now the downside is the rooms could do with updating, nothing major a lick of paint and some TLC new carpets etc and it would be a real gem its such a shame the owners need to get their fingers out and invest some money into it, the staff there put in so much hard work to keep it going to a certain standard I just hope the Management know how valuable and irreplaceable they are and its because of them that its still going . BTW had my 50th Birthday party there in December using there function room would highly recommend it was amazing.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room could do with a refurbishment but saying that I didn't expect a lot for what we paid. Breakfast was excellent, shower was excellent bed was comfy.2 complaints1.Way way too hot at night felt like sleeping in a furnace.2. Didn't appreciate finding a dirty sock from a previous guest in a bedside cabinet

We stayed overnight, it's cheap, cheerful and clean. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Yes it's not the Ritz but neither does it charge you a fortune. We ate in the bar, try the steak with pepper sauce, they do the steak as you actually want it.

Worst night ever. If you have kids please do not stay in this dive.Family of 5, so needed 5 beds, one of those was the grubbiest sofa bed with a mattress that should have been thrown many years ago!Room for 5 people and we had 2 towels!The bathroom light didn't work, so all toileting and showering took place in pitch black or with the door open! Probably for the best, don't think I would have wanted to see the state of the bathroom in daylight.The pillows were paper thin and I tried not to look at the colour of them.Plus the extra holes in the walls, state of the worktops, fact that you had to physically turn/move the sofa to actually open it fully.Not the best experience and can't even say you get what you pay for!
