Cross House Inn in Sefton

What a good find for an overnight stopover in the car park of The Cross House Inn Formby before catching the ferry to Dublin (only 30mins drive from pub).We rang up before arriving to make sure that it was ok to park overnight. The guy on the phone couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly and informed us that it was ok to stop.On arrival we parked at the back of the car park where there was plenty of overhang onto the grassed area.Then off into the pub where we spoke to a guy called Sam to let him know we were staying. He was welcoming and said we could stay as long as we wanted.We then took a table at a window seat. The decoration of the pub is modern and welcoming with a very local pub feel about it.We ordered from the menu a selection of 5 small plates. Food was served in a timely manner and well presented. After a very tasty main meal we then had the sharing desserts which was a selection of 5 small portions and more than enough after our mains.The prices of both drinks and food was very reasonable and well worth it.Sam was a very chatty guy and gave us info on the local area and beaches. He was a pleasure to speak to.If down this way again we will definitely pop in.A really friendly atmosphere and good food and drink.

Amazing pub came in on Sunday for a lovely Sunday lunch with the kids. When we turned up there was a fire engine for the kids they loved it. The service was amazing and anything I needed I got. The staff are great especially Nicola … she kept the kids entertained with colouring pages and talking to the kids. Food was very good will definitely be coming back again. Thank you guys

I could not recommend the Cross House enough for a family celebration. When I phoned to make the booking, it was very personalised and they made arrangements for birthday balloons and banners which surprised and delighted my son.The service was friendly and catered for everything we wanted. Sam & Alex have got a bloody good bar, great atmosphere & friendlyGood selection of Ales, think its about 8. Plus Lagers and cider, all on draft. Good selection of wines and bottles.Greene King Pubs are know for their Ales, the Cross House is also at the heart of Formby.Not a bot, not anything to do with the place, just a punter.

Sam was absolutely fantastic and couldn't help us enough whilst they were very busy this bank holiday! Wonderful food, lovely atmosphere and beautiful pub. Excellent parking and beer garden too! Thanks guys X

We went on the 14th April 2022 to have a drink and you where made welcome by all Staff, whilst having a drink we did admire the food that people had ordered and will be returning to try it out. In my opinion I would highly recommend giving the pub a try as I think you will enjoy and feel welcome. Well done keep up the good work. The Manageress introduced us to some off the staff and they where really nice

Popped in over the weekend whilst in the Formby area, what a brilliant little pub. Service was fantastic, even dog friendly which made it better. Perfect beer garden for the weather will definitely visit again when in the area. Heard there is new menu up and coming so will pop back to try that.

Sam and Courtney were excellent couldn’t have been any more helpful and very friendly. Had plenty of time to talk through the menu and didn’t feel rushed at all. The past 6 months the place had gone very downhill however Sam is trying exceptionally hard to turn it around and look forward to eating there again

Great pub we had our little boys baptism and 1st birthday party here a few weeks ago. Staff are amazing so friendly and attentive. Buffet was great and they even put our banners and balloons up before we arrived. Thank you so much to Heather and her team

Excellent meal, very good atmosphere. Staff very, very good and attentive. Would recommend to any one wanting good restaurant/pub food, drink and service! Not our local unfortunately as would visit regularly, but will go again when in the area.
