Hesketh Arms in Sefton

Churchtown is a lovely area, very picturesque with whitewashed thatched cottages and at the heart is The Hesketh Arms. A delightful Inn where we called for dinner. What a delight it turned out to be. The service was charming and attentive, the food was blissful and all in such a charming setting. We were so impressed, but what impressed us most was the delightful young woman who took orders for five, drinks starters and mains and committed them to memory. Which probably just shows our age 😊Can't recommend highly enough

Absolutely brilliant food and even better service. Our waitress Courtney was incredible! We couldn't fault her at all, altogether there was 9 of us and Courtney couldn't have been more accommodating. She made sure we where satisfied every step of the way and we will definitely be back.

3 meat Sunday roast is a amazing, plus it's one of my favourite Southport pubs for fish and chips and their calamari is to die for! All I would say is, make you're hungry when you go because it's not often I'm beaten by a plate of delicious food but even I had to wave the white flag on Sunday. Bonus for me they sell draft Aspell's which in my humble opinion is one of the best ciders in the world.

First visit= My Wife & I were greeted with the warmest welcome all staff could not of been more polite & helpful.The place is lovely the food was delightful.Would advise anyone to visit be it a drink of meal.🍺🍷🥂🍽🍽☕🍰😉👍Second visit= Just as good actually better had the best Sunday Roast in...forever.We took my Wifes mum out & we all had the amazing Trio Roast I mean #wow it had it all.Complements to the chef & the staff again could not of been more helpful & polite.Even the manager was understanding when we asked if we could move to the next table as we had our dog Luna with us & was a bit nervous with the traffic of people coming back & forth.We really appreciated that.The open fire was a much welcome addition as we were drenched & cold from the storm outside. Lovely & cosy with delicious food & drink. Worth every penny.🍽🍹👍💗😁🐩🐾🐾

We’ve had many breakfasts in and around Southport, many are good, the Hesketh Arms in Churchtown take it to another level. By far the best breakfast around, well cooked, beautiful flavours and quality products. Excellent service and nice surroundings too. We’ll be back.

Just had a takeaway roast dinner from here after unfortunately having to cancel a meal out due to illness. It was absolutely delicious! Nice and hot even after the 10 minute drive home. Roast potatoes and parsnips were amazing. Very good size portion too. Couldn’t fault it. Will definitely be back again, thank you!

We booked for an evening meal in a couple of days time but whilst on the website saw that they do Brunch (Thursday to Sunday I think)!! We booked for this morning and it was absolutely gorgeous! Definitely one of the best places around for breakfast! Lots of variety, really attentive service and friendly staff. The venue is lovely, lots of space and dog friendly too which is a bonus if you're off for a walk afterwards 😁 Highly recommend!

Me and my friend have just had the best roast dinner experience at the Hesketh Arms . Despite staff shortage due to covid and supply problems we have had a lovely night. Beautiful roast dinner and the staff could not have been more attentive just lovely 10/10 well done to Ben and his staff. Happy new year 🍻🍺

Certain would never recommend. Travelled 4 hours to meet my daughter in law for this absolute rubbish! Duck salad. Rock hard black charcoaled duck. Definitely NOT fresh. Microwaved?! Triple cooked chips, dry as a bone and mealy like they were frozen too long. Burger was just appalling. Appeared old and freezer burnt, certainly not freshly cooked food. Dry as a bone also and a strange texture.( In fact I did wonder whether they had given her a veggie burger is was such a strange texture and so dry). Tasteless meals. Both meals and drinks left. Waste of over £30. Both members of staff were well aware there was a problem and both did nothing which is the worst thing you can do especially when you’d already got the drink order wrong. Churchtown is a lovely little village but this place was a huge disappointment, overpriced & staff shocking! Yuk

Absolutely beautiful food! Good ingredients cooked well and served by friendly and efficient staff. Can't recommend enough! Thanks guys, we'll be back!
