Went for a pub lunch, quite expensive, no choice at all if you just wanted a snack or a lite lunch. Staff quite miserable. Outside seating area was quite nice.

Lovely welcoming place to take your dog. We had a really tasty meal, it arrived at our table hot and the steak melted in the mouth. Perfect crispy chips too, just the way I like them. They even catered for Jess our dog by cooking her a sausage. Will definitely be visiting again when we return to Southport.

Fantastic pub, serves gluten free beer on tap and in bottles and has a gluten free menu, fast friendly service, and great atmosphere, well recommend

We went to the Spitfire on Saturday evening for the first time, what a fabulous experience. The menu was excellent and far superior than your normal local pub eatery. All the food was home made and exceptional. All of our party praised it. What was really refreshing was the owners attention to all of her customers. A lovely lady who genuinely cared that we enjoyed our experience. We rated it so highly we returned the next day. The experience was exactly the same and we will be returning soon. We'd highly recommend it to everyone .

An absolutely gorgeous very tasty Sunday lunch. Meat really tender and vegetables cooked to perfection followed by homemade sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. A culinary gem on my doorstep with a really friendly owner and excellent staff. Will definitely be returning 🤪

Had a lovely Mother’s day Sunday roast with the family! Food was lovely & service was amazing! There was a mix up with the booking & they sorted it out straight away highly recommend this pub!

We went on Sunday (we been quite regularly) and it was the busiest we have ever seen it. But regardless of us not booking and just turning up we were very quickly found a table for four of us. We were served reasonably quick considering how busy it was including a large birthday party. Now on to the food we had 2 roast dinners from the carvery, tikka masala curry and a large fish chips. All meals were eaten and apart from a small amount of batter, we had four clean plates. Delicious. The staff were friendly and cheerful and as attentive as could be expected in such a busy venue. Would 100% recommend 😊

Just gorgeous. The standard and quality that Denise and Gareth have achieved is just incredible, having seen the state the previous owners left it in!I can honestly say we’ve never had a single issue, and my partner and I have been in a lot as we don’t think anywhere else really compares, we cannot recommend it more! Nothing is too much to ask, and you’ll feel so welcome, more like a friend than a customer! We needed a place to hold a wake the end of last year for a family member and we didn’t even consider anywhere else, they were highly respectful and so helpful!Even with all the restrictions recently, they have never let their standards drop and you’re always greeted with open arms! We’ve had birthdays, family catch-ups and Christmas dinners, they hit the spot every time!Food is high quality and obviously fresh and homemade - the chefs clearly know what they’re doing and they do it bloomin’ well!Best place around!!!!

We are so lucky to have the Spitfire as our local. We pop in once or twice a week, and often have a bite to eat too. The food's delicious and clearly made with love. We are veggies/vegans and the choice is great, but there is lots of other stuff on the menu to appeal to everyone. The staff are all lovely, polite and friendly, and the landlady is wonderful! Our dog always gets a treat and a fuss made of him. A warm and welcoming place every time. Do try the sticky-toffee pud!
