The Gate of India in Sefton

Been to this place a few times and cant fault it. Food is superb and cheap..£80 for all 4 of us including drinks👍

Ordered online an hour to hr half before,to be delivered for a set time as we were travelling home from a 3 hr drive. Got a text 10 mins after it's due to say it would be late, then another 10 mins another text. Shows on the Just Eat App its due over an hour late!! Called restaurant to be spoken to a very rude person telling us just because we ordered if a set time they don't deliver it at said set time!! Puzzled we asked to speak to the Manager, couldn't get a word in edgeways, also heard the 1st person say they want to cancel, we didn't. Manger wasn't interested told us never to book a time on Just Eat as that's a Just Eat thing not a restaurant thing and expect to wait at least an hour and half when ordering food on a Fri and Sat. We have before and never had to wait that long!! Manger just didn't care, wouldn't let us speak and basically told us tough, you'll have to wait. No apologies nothing, shame as we have used them quite a bit but won't bother again. An apology goes a long way, and that would of been sufficient.

Haven't been here for over 30 years for a number of reasons but as a family member has booked us in for Xmas, thought we better do a test run!It's had a refurb and been extended since I was last in and looks good with intimate booths for couples/small groups and larger tables for parties etc.Staff were brilliant, very attentive but not obtrusive. Food was amazing and the portions are huge - so filling that even with not having starters we needed to "doggy bag" half our meal!Having "rediscovered" the Gate Of India, we'll be back and not just for Christmas!

Visited for the first time earlier. The food was really nice and portion size was plentiful. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly and welcoming. Will visit again.

Love this place. The food is always fantastic, so tasty, great quality, generous portions and never a long wait. The staff are really friendly and lovely. It's recently had a refurb and looks lovely. One of the best Indian restaurants in Merseyside

Excellent service and excellent food, the menu has something for everyone and the price of an authentic meal will not break the bank.Will definitely be returning in the future.I would recommend the garlic chicken its full of flavour and not too spicy.

On 23/06/2021 my family and I visited this restaurant to have our family meal. The food was excellent...we had starters and main course and it was delivered in good time and the taste was really delicious – well cooked meat and all food served piping hot, and served in good time.The staff are very friendly too, which is always a bonus.The price is a tad on the high side, but since the food and service was 10/10, then we didn't mind paying the extra.I fully recommend this restaurant. We will visit again soon, and we live 25 miles away.
