Good to stop here when cycling along the coastal path. Big garden area makes it suitable for groups. Very comfortable and reasonable prices with good service. I’ve eaten here a couple of times and it’s decent pub grub

Where to start waited over 1.5 hours for food to arrive Absolutely horrendous food hightown burgers x3 where still raw sent them back an all they did was put them back on the grill still came back pink inside missing salad off the burgers, steak was asked for well done come out dripping with blood but because another person had been waiting over 1hour for his steak while the rest off his table had eaten and they brought his back twice there was no way we was willing to do this , Pat’e was off an smelt horrendous 🤢 that much so the smell alone made you want to vomit, kids chicken burger was a slice off chicken breast when we was told it was in batter was also pink, pasta carbonara was vile raw chicken not even cooked that also smelt off waitress was doing her best but when we asked for a mangers 4 times the manger refused to come over to are table instead sent the youngest waitress over to deal with the problems wasn’t even offered a free drink for the troubles shocking service from chefs and mangers and now to top it all off 3 people from are party off 14 are now none stop vomiting and the rest other than 2 people are feeling sick most definitely will never be going back there again avoid the place there lucky I’ve even given them 1 star I must add went there a few wks ago an the food was outstanding that’s why we decided to there for a sons 18th birthday meal never again

Stopped off for lunch after a walk from Waterloo to Hightown before catching the train home.Staff were friendly and prompt to take orders. Food was very tasty and clearly freshly cooked. Portions were pretty generous being from the "light bites" menu. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Washed down with a pint if Beavertown. Will definitely return.

The Landlord is extremely rude. He doesn't even bother to address you personally he just mutters to his staff to deal with it. Last year I came with our dog and he complained when i brought the dog in to order stating "No dogs inside". Today he complained that there was to be no dogs outside after i had tied her up. He really can't make his mind up and his attitude stinks. I thank the poor staff member who came outside to try and explain. Don't bother with this place as the owner is a disgrace

Lovely Pub and friendly staff. Would have loved to have more veggie and vegan options and salad with the meals. Even with a limited veggie menu, I’d be back!

Shockingly overpriced for what it is. Dry chicken, small glasses, cold onion rings, terrible service (waiting times mostly). What’s even worse is that we went in when it was pretty much empty! Will not be returning again unless they have a serious look at their prices and staff

Brilliant! The refurbishment has been one of the best I've seen. Sympathetic to the grace and beauty of the building, retaining the cosiness and character. Staff very friendly. Only called in for drinks following walk but offers fabulous food selection too. The outdoor area, when warmer obviously, is excellent. Just love it!!

Went in there to find a weird welcome only to be shocked at the prices ( they must think they are in London) and the toilets were freezing and the radiator in there was rusty, it may have been updated but am not prepared to pay for it. Had one overpriced drink and left 😟 can't upload the photo of the radiator in the gents coz not given that option but when an outfit like this taking good money don't return the favour to give you clean facility furniture you deserve.

Very pleased to see the Hightown has now been renovated from the dump that it was before. Good service, good food and a very pleasant dining experience overall.A few more vegan options would be great but I'm sure that will come.Keep up the good work.

Celebrated my father in law’s 90th Birthday this weekemd. Fantastic staff from the outset - positive, professional and interested. Food was over abundant and really good. Staff were brilliant. We, admittedly overran ct two hour on a very busy Saturday. Great pace !!!
