The Hungry Monk in Sefton

Visited on a Wednesday evening. 4 adults, without booking.Staff were welcoming, and happy to help. There were other people eating, but plenty of seating available when we arrived. The menu is extensive and covers all sorts of needs.The surroundings are interesting, with lots of unusual things to chat about. Service was really good. No hanging about.The food was absolutely delicious.3 of us had a full rack of ribs, and one had Sea Bass. All the food was beautifully cooked and served. Portions were huge! Prices are very good.We will be back! Highly recommended place.Thanks for having us.

We stumbled upon the Hungry Monk for the first time yesterday. What an amazing find. The service was absolutely fabulous. Staff that really cared and were 100% focused on making sure our experience was perfect. The food was fresh, tasty and great value too. We had loaded fries, fish finger sandwiches on the freshest tiger bread, a good quality steak sandwich and some Nacho's. We can't wait to return.

Fabulous place a hidden Gem. Booked table as recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed. Staff very welcoming and knew their menu and drinks giving us several recommendations. Outstanding food and service great quality ingredients will definitely be back.

Fantastic gig night. Food was delivered quickly and was fresh and very tasty. Attentive staff without being intrusive. 2nd visit.

I would have given a 4 but based on 1st impressions on the welcome it wasn't impressive. There was a sign outside the door that said wait here to be seated so the 5 of us waited while being starred at from the staff inside. Do we enter or wait? Eventually someone came and said you can sit anywhere ok, food was good and I enjoyed it. See another customer walk in..guess we didn't have to wait..only to hear the bar staff shout across the room..just take a seat. Very welcoming? Why have a sign outside saying wait to be seated if they aren't going to greet you. We did enjoy the food and would go back, next time I'd just will walk in 🤣 rather than be hallowed at

My wife & myself had an early evening meal at The Hungry Monk restaurant last Friday 18th March and we are very pleased to say what a wonderful meal we had from the Grazing menu, which we thoroughly enjoyed, so much so that we have booked another meal with the Friday night entertainment. We would like to add what a most friendly atmosphere and pleasant staff this restaurant has, the young girl who attended our table couldn't have been more helpful, what more could you ask for. Boss food good prices excellent staff always the hungry monk every time

Called in today with my wife,she had the steak kebab and I had a badboy burger.I asked the waiter if I could change the bacon for pulled pork,this was done no problem at all.The meals we had were the best we have ever had whilst dining out,we have eaten in alot of places around the UK.We decided to have dessert and that again was out of this world,I had sticky toffee pudding my wife had chocolate brownie.I asked the waiter if my wife could have a couple of strawberries with hers,yet again this was done without any problems at all.If you are in Southport and want amazing food,excellent service and a really nice atmosphere then look no further this is the place for you.SUPERB

Great night at the hungry monk 👍i went on a night out with friends to see a Meatloaf tribute act ( who was great ) he had the crowd from start to finish ! Food was very good and reasonably priced and the service great staff were very friendly. Will definitely go again 😉

Food was really nice and so were the staff. The harissa cod was great and the portions are really generous. Lots of nice decor and drinks options too. Loos could do with a deep clean and some TLC, but I'll still be back to try more food.
