The Railway in Sefton

Visited 13/04, for lunch, the pub wasn't busy and service was quick. The staff were OK, but the blonde hair lady serving food was very pleasant and friendly, we had two dogs with us and they were made very welcome without being over bearing, the food was pleasant and plentiful. The only down was the young girl behind the bar could learn to pull a pint of ale, would of been nice to have a head on it

Not our best experience here as a lot of the menu was off, so choice was very limited. This was probably due to a 50% online offer in place but it should have been better prepared. I like this place, the food is generally OK and it has an outside seating area and it's close to a train station. I will go again, but with a general email offer circulating I won't wait for the last night to go.

Thank you for spoiling what should have been a family get together. We booked a table and arrived on time and given a full menu to order from. EVERY dish was off when we came to order!!! Absolutely unacceptable. You need to be more customer focused and let people know in advance if you can’t offer what is advertised. Never use them again. Sorry, but really, really poor customer service

Nice atmosphere, not too busy on the evening we visited. Food available but we were only in for a couple of pints. Would visit again. Very handy for the railway station too.

Don't know what's happened to this place. Just ate there absolutely diabolical. Staff swearing behind bar about a young member of staff who was crying outside!!! No cutlery or napkins until after our starter which was burnt. Pasta was a congealed mess. Used to be great would not return.

Was very disappointed today after the reopening, we booked a table for 1pm, my husband and I both ordered roast beef dinner, they had run out of Yorkshire puddings and when it came we asked were was the carrots, reply was oh sorry we've run out of them also.The meal was only just warm, to say we were very disappointed is an understatement, we have eaten there several times in the past and was always lovely.We revisited The Railway yesterday and the food was absolutely lovely will definitely be returning with our dogs, so I now have changed my star rating.Well done

Lovely atmosphere, very cozy and clean. Dog friendly which is an absolute bonus. You also couldn't wish for a better location in terms of being near the station, its almost on the platform if you leave via the back door, so ideal if you are leaving the car at home.Drinks are pricey but there is a happy hour I always seem to miss!The food is nice - standard chain food but there are lots of options. Even the vegans and veggies in our group can find something to eat - a bit more of choice for vegans in terms of food and beers/ales would be nice.Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Very chilled out atmosphere during the week (can't speak to weekends). It's a nice place to spend an evening. I'd definitely recommend it.

As pubs go, it's decent. Not too expensive (but getting there), food is typical chain quality but not bad. Great place to meet up and ideally located next to the train station.

Have come at The Railway Pub for six and a half years, and never been disappointed about either food, beverages, facilities or staff. Lovely place!
