Toby Carvery Formby in Sefton

After paying £14 to get to the restaurant we was told they were fully booked and then at the last minute told me that they had a table but only for 20 mins. The table offered was too small so given an unreserved table. Why wasnt we offered the unreserved table in the first place?

I went today for the roast staff were nice . But the portions of meat were small all so had apple pie and custard Custard was cold . Toilet very strong smell of urine and it was all over the floor with a wet sign in front of it . Been going there for years won't be going back anymore tho.😡🤑

Absolute beautiful staff that served us on Friday 11 Feb. Really fantastic from our arrival to end. Chef fantastic with the kids. Cannot praise them enough..I really hope this gets back to them they are a fantastic team and made a simple carvery tea such a lovely night.

Great good and lovely staff. Place is clean and a good place to eat if there is a few in your party. Didn't know you could go up for seconds on the veg which was amazing for the hungry eaters.

Amazing food, amazing staff..... highly recommendedFrom the minute we through the door everything was excellent, we were welcomed so nicely by I think the manageress, our waitress was lovely and friendly as we're the other staff member. The chefs behind the counter were so lovely, the food was excellent. As we left everyone said goodbye. This place has such a lovely friend feel about it.This is the Formby branch, we live 2 minutes away from the Ainsdale branch which is nowhere near as good. Will definitely be back !

Has been years since we had a carvery here, had a few hours out and decided to try it, it did not disappoint, the food was fresh and delicious, moreso because I didn't have to cook it 😁. For a Sunday carvery, the price was extremely reasonable at £12.49 and had a choice of 4 meats to choose from: gammon, beef, turkey and lamb or you could have a combination of them all if you wanted, and they were very generous portions. The veg was a great choice and all cooked to perfection and the roast potatoes were lovely too and I'm very fussy about my roasties!! There was a choice of condiments and the gravy was thick and tasty. I would definitely recommend this particular branch of Toby carvery to anyone who was in and around Formby for the day. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it wasn't too crowded so if you're worried about too many people in a small area, they are managing it really well. We didn't have dessert because we were full from lunch but I would say that they would be just as lovely as their carvery is.

Food really excellent tonight, much better than usual and great crispy roasties! The chef (Neil I think) really funny and friendly and our favourite server Nicky was fabulous as always, she goes the extra mile every time and we love her to bits. The guy serving drinks absolutely lovely too but the way he was spoken to by who I believe was a female manager was disgusting in front of customers and there was absolutely no need for her to be so rude.

Very pleasant atmosphere, warm, friendly pub, excellent service staff.The carvery was very mediocre, no salt in any vegetables, gravy hot but tasteless. The only difference between the Turkey and the Beef was the colour. If I had been blindfolded, I couldn't have told you what I was eating. Very bland food. Such a shame.Dessert was very indulgent though.

Went again yesterday. Not disappointed as usual. The food was all fresh and Well presented. We were greeted by Nicky and shown to our table. Nicky was very helpful as usual. We all really enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. Will call again soon. We were in a party of four.

Could use a little bit of TLC, friendly staff give you a very warm welcome.Food selection on the carvery looked good, however any juices in the meat had gone, the vegetables were not up to standard, having been on the counter too long.Yes I will eat here again.
