A lovely campsite with beautiful surroundings; not at all far from Coniston Water. We stayed here for a weekend in August and really enjoyed ourselves (despite the weather)!I would have given 5 stars but the dish washing area doesn't have hot water, only cold, which makes doing the dishes a little unpleasant. Moreover, there was a bit of a communication breakdown between us and the owner. When we arrived, we were given the key to the ladies and told our group should use only that toilet (because of covid). There were 3 camping groups in total and 3 toilets (mens, ladies and disabled) so this made sense. However, part way through our stay another group arrived and started using whichever toilet. This wouldn't have been an issue if someone had let us know (restrictions had been relaxed at this point after all). However, I'd left my towel in the bathroom to dry thinking only we had access and I believe another camper used it. Of course, if I'd known other people were using the bathroom I wouldn't have left it there to begin with. Just a shame no one let us know. All in all a good campsite, I'd recommend it for a short stay but not longer because of the sink issue.

Love this site. So peaceful and quiet. Carole is a lovely down to earth host. Really missed her amazing breakfasts this time round..bloomin covid. But went home with some delicious homemade cakes. Great value for money all round. Can't wait till we can go back.

Remote location on very narrow and steep road which may put off some people., but perfect camp site . Covid protocol was fab. We had our own toilet and shower. Will be back .

5 nil at Abott Park- absolute goal fest - Carole strikes again! We travelled to Abott Park for the late mid week kick off.Other than essential staff, no fans and media were allowed. This made for a very pleasant stay, with a wellspaced out tent pitch, with our very own Covid Compliant private toilet. £10 a night per pitch with stunning views across the rolling hills.Carole strikes me as olde school, so give her a bell to book your stay; she is tries her best to be almost always available. The camper is only a stones throw from the Manor House, a good boozer full of honest local folk and who we look forward to locking horns with again. No subs were needed on this trip.Lock your toilet. Please close the gate.No Muggles allowed.GOAL!

This is a hidden gem of a campsite. We have just spent 4 nights here and almost had it to ourselves (in August!). So quiet and peaceful, just the sound of birds, sheep and cows. There are some lovely flat(ish) pitches with great views and a fairly new toilet and shower block (plus simple washing up facilities). Big bonus, if you fancy a great breakfast, tell Carol the owner (who is lovely), and she will cook you one up and serve it in her lovely tea room. All in all, if you like a quiet, simple campsite, this is a great find, I didn't really want to share it with you, but it deserves to be known.

We've recently returned from a weeks camping here. What a wonderful place. Carole is a fantastic host. Anything we wanted was no trouble at all. So welcoming and friendly. The campsite itself is also lovely. Back to nature, no marked out pitches, you just camp where you want. Beautiful landscape. The facilities were immaculate. In fact, I think Carole is a robot because she never sleeps. We saw her early morning and late at night keeping the place maintained. Thanks again for a brilliant holiday. We shall definitely return.

Great place to camp. Beautiful views and very quiet at night. Facilities were all clean and plenty of hot water in the showers. Didn't eat in the tea room but the cakes did look tempting. Carole, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating too. Would definitely like to go back!

Carole is a dream host, totally chilled about everything and nothing was a problem. Her cakes in the tea room are wonderful. Our family, 9 of us, had breakfast and it was fabulous. The campsite has everything you need in the countryside, animals close by, hot water and clean toilets with ample toilet rolls. We'll be back

We've stayed at this campsite getting on for a dozen times now, and have also stayed in the camping barns recently. It's perfect for us: quiet, friendly, beautiful views, clean, and the kids adore being able to play freely around the site. Carole is always so kind and welcoming, it really does feel like home from home each time we go, including the home-cooked food! This really is getting away from it all in the Lakes... Our family's happy place!
