Nice pub with good beer. Went there to have some food and watch Formula 1. Can't complain about anything specific, so that's a good thing. Food was alright 7/10.Friendly barman and multiple seating areas, I'm assuming the first one near the bar is the most quiet place.

The food was disgusting and dry, the tables were sticky. The bar maid was rude when asked a question, seemed very hostile & rude. Didn’t smile or engage with us whilst we was there. The lettuce wasn’t fresh, the haulomi wasnt cooked properly. Poor service today and we will not be coming back

Friendly and helpful staff, they changed a television over for me to watch a Glasgow Rangers European game. And a special thank you to the manager for introducing me to Bumbu Rum. Cheers.

Originally went in for food, however we were to late as they had stopped serving at 7:30pm and it was nearly 8:00 when we got there. Dined somewhere else and then went back for a drink. Liked it, nice friendly place, good selection of drinks. Rugby league on TV. Been to Ambleside a few times, but first time in the tavern, would go again.

Great pub. We walked in and instantly wished we weren't driving as we'd have sat and had a good few drinks here otherwise! Proper British pub!

Pleasant, reasonably priced, down to earth venue, Very helpful, friendly staff & good food & drink selection. Dog friendly & discount meal deals for kids. Enjoyed my visit, definitely recommend.

Nice place. Good selection of beers. Food very reasonable but didn't sample. Good screens if you want to watch Sky/BT, but nothing too loud or rowdy. The only place you can now watch the footie in Ambleside now the Temperance has gone up market?

lovely extra large pub 3 levels good food and drinks stopped by on a rainy day and watched the f1 why there 3 drunks and some dirty chips later left very happy
