Wonderful house, a real gem. Beautiful interior designed in the Arts & Crafts tradition. The drawing room is simply stunning - a real 'wow' when you enter. If you have a list of buildings to visit in the Lake District, put this near the top!

This is one of our favourite houses to visit. The setting is fantastic and the interiors are beautiful. We have visited many times. Thank you to the staff, the front desk staff and the ladles in the tearoom were welcoming and friendly. Also good to see items on display from other collections. The bed covering from the Gawthorpe Textile Collection was very beautiful.

A well preserved English home with some fine architecture and minimalist interior inspired from arts and craft movements. There is a tea shop on site which serves tasty cakes and other snacks.

So pleased we came. Lovely friendly staff, a very good and motivated guide. Stunning examples of arts and crafts. Will come again.

This is a beautiful Arts & Crafts home and we'll worth a visit. It also has a very nice tea room and a shop with a range of excellent hand made Art & Craft items with a wide range of prices.

For anyone interested in Arts & Crafts architecture and furnishings, this is a must. The house is wonderfully set out with excellent information on the A&C movement. We'll worth a visit.
