Booths Cafe Ulverston in South Lakeland

Fabulous store offering amazing quality food. Would benefit from a couple of chairs near the checkout. They had them last year. My husband has had a heart op and sometimes needs to rest.

Brilliant carrot cake because I don't like raisins or sultanas and it doesn't have any which is wonderful because I love carrot cake but normally it is spoiled by raisins or sultanas and the deluxe hot chocolate is wonderful with big marshmallows hot chocolate powder dusting and delicious squirty cream

Great place to stop and recharge (your car). Chargers are plentiful (4) and reliable (Instavolt), coffee and cake are quality. Cafe isn't huge so seats can be scarce. Staff were really helpful.

Only visited the cafe, but it was amazing. A proper cheese and ham toasty with a lovely cup of coffee. Staff were great, very welcoming. Very popular place, we got in just before it got busy.

Good bacon bun and tea. Reasonable price. Nice to relax and read the daily papers provided. Good staff.

Went into the cafe at 13.45 and ordered all day breakfast they didn't have any bacon or sausage, asked for other things and they didn't have any of them either then they said they stopped cooking at 14.oo I think they need to alter their menu's so they can accommodate, that is the 3rd time I've been in there and the same thing has happened won't be going again.

Thought I would pop in to Booths cafe today for my lunch. What a mistake. I was shocked at how down hill it had become. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich. I ordered a ham and mayonnaise sandwich but they didn’t have any, so then I asked for a chicken sandwich, apparently my friend had the last one. I then asked for eggs on toast, can I have them poached, no said the lady serving we are not doing poached today (although it had them on the menu), we can do fried. I was starving by then so ordered the fried eggs. Would you like brown or white bread, brown I answered, and can I have a glass of water. I then paid and went and sat down with my friend. Her sandwich came with a rough bit of salad on the side. Mine came about 20 minutes after hers. Eggs on white bread instead of brown and no water. We both wished we hadn’t bothered. Shame because it used to be top notch.

Lots of local produce and variety. Beautiful tasting local eggs in the pick your own section. Really nice. Only thing i would say is it would be useful to stick a few clothes (Maybe socks or something) for the occasional holiday emergency.

Had breakfast in booths cafe. Total chaos with staff wandering around cafe not knowing who had ordered what. One couple sat next to us didn't get their food order after waiting at least 30 mins so got refund instead. They told us they've been to cafe on several occasions and have had very similar experiences with orders going wrong.Staff very pleasant though- maybe system for orders needs to be looked at??

We were very disappointed with the service in the cafe, the table where we sat still had the cups etc from the previous customers, the table had not been wiped down either, they were still there when we left.The teacake I ordered came before our drinks , I was not given a knife to butter the teacake so I went a got one from the counter, my husband was not given a fork with his Lancashire teabread. He was eventually given a fork.The staff were polite but the service to customers needs to be addressed, there seems to be no co-ordination between the staff.This is the second time we have received poor service, we will not be visiting the cafe again which is a pity because we have always enjoyed our visits to the cafe after shopping in the store.
