Great locals pub. Limited food offering at weekends but good quality and value.

Nice little pub off the beaten track, outdoor seating area too.

Friendly pub. Excellent food.

·

Average run of the mill pub. Not particularly friendly or welcoming, but decent food.

The landlord is a rude Al Murray wannnabe! We turned up at 6:30 and asked if they were doing food! He loudly said “we’re clearly not doing food as it says “no food” outside! I thought he was joking as he was laughing at us as he said it and I said ah good one! He then proceeded to ridicule us in front of his regulars about the fact he wasn’t serving food and it was in bold outside the pub! We left with one of the regulars and looked at the menu outside and on the outside of the pub and no sign of the no food sign apart from an A5 bit of paper held in the corner by a bit of blue tack! To his credit it said no food on it but he couldn’t be arsed to stick it down!I went inside and said to him that the paper sign had come off and the regular backed me up! No apologies just “Hard luck mate! Get some food somewhere else!”The pub has an over bearing landlord avoid! Went in there a day later for the girlfriend to have a wee and I sat in the garden and wouldn’t order a drink as I don’t want to give him any money! Once again an overbearing Al Murray!

AVOID! I have just been in to the Brookside with my boyfriend and have been left shocked and heartbroken by the service I have just received. I am exempt from wearing face masks due to my chronic migraines and so carry the exemption (from the government website) on my phone as advised by doctor. As soon as we walked in the manager (as appeared to be) asked for my face mask and rightly so. I showed him my exemption to which he said ‘no, anyone can download that onto your phone, it’s no landyard no entry’. He was so incredibly rude to me after explaining my doctor had sent me the image. The locals then joined in. During this entire pandemic, people have accepted this picture and have been accommodating of my needs, until today. I have been made our to be a liar and humiliated in front of an entire pub. I was then told I was rude when I stuck up for myself and explained the image was from my doctor and that I am not a liar. Please can I also make it known that people can pay for the sunflower landyards and can be as much a fraud as you think I am.Please everyone avoid this place, especially tourists, there are much more accommodating and lovely places around.

We were struggling to find somewhere to grab some pub food and drink on way back to airbnb and picked this pub as it was a bit off track. Whilst there was ample outside seating and warning that there was a limited menu, the food served was pretty shocking for the price, £10 for a pizza that came served in a takeaway box and looked like a shop bought pizza. The cheeseburger I ordered also still had cold unmelted grated cheese on it. Expensive for what it was.

·

Ok service, but the food quality was dire. Burgers with shredded cheese which they didn’t bother melting. The only redeeming quality of the burger was the onion, which is very hard to get wrong as it is. Pizza was a dollop of a half baked dough with questionable cheese atop. Recommended for casual drinks, but with food you’ll only be disappointed.

Excellent food and service. Good choice of beer wine and gin.
